this thing is awesome. I needed a light that used aa rechargeable nimh batteries, and this one works very well. Super bright! Long battery life (still on original set), very well made, easy to operate....

Hands down one of the brightest AA led flashlights. Multiple modes to choose from and have (2) settings to remember. I use max/medium. Runs surprisingly long on alkalines. I use a pair of energizer lithiums that got on sale works great. I have the R5 version, Pure FLOOD light which i wanted. Only drawback is the clip wiggled a bit after use but not a problem at all. Should use rubbing alcohol and swabs to clean contacts and threads every couple months and reapply some silicone grease to keep running optimally.
Pros: 2 way clip, slim design, multi mode
Cons: Clip wiggle, upkeep...

Great EDC Flashlight for the everyday person

Great little flashlight. I got this for my Dad for Christmas. Everyone should carry a small high powered flashlight. I carry a Surefire E2DL (same Cree LED, but CR123 Batteries) They come in handy around the house and at work. Not only that they are a great self defense tool at night. This flashlight outputs 180 lumens (which is very bright) can temporarily blind assailants. Also, it can be taken anywhere that other self-defense tools (i.e. pepper-spray, tazer, etc.) may not be allowed. (i.e. Airplanes, Europe , College campuses, etc.) The aluminum body fits perfectly in the hand to use as a kubo-baton if you are physically assaulted. Doesn't have the Crenelated Bezel as on my Surefire or an Elzetta, but this can be a blessing for an everyday carry light, as you don't get those, "that looks like a weapon, not a flashlight looks" My Dad isn't the "tactical" type, but the tactical version FS.QAA-2-T offers the ability to preset 2 of the functions ahead of time instead of scrolling through the 7 different settings every time it is used. The tactical model has its advantages in the programing, and also in the momentary on tailcap. Flashlight is not as bright as my 200 lumen Surefire E2DL, but then again my Surefire only has 2 programed settings (high 200, low 5) that are only accessible by pushing the tail cap button in the correct sequence. Construction is solid and comes with a reversible clip (bezel up or down, something else I wish my Surefire had) My Dad has it ...

I've never had a flashlight using AA batteries as bright as this Quark AA2 tactical. I set it up to memorize Medium and Max and it lights up the whole yard on Max. I just wish the pocket clip allowed the light to sit a little deeper.
Pros: aa batteries, bright, a lot of light for the money
Cons: pocket clip...

4 Sevens Quark FS.QAA-2-T

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, TX Written on December 10, 2010
I really like this light. The different output options provide the right amount of light for the task and the ability to save battery life. Still has tremendous output on high setting when needed. The size of this light makes it very portable and easily packed or carried. Comes with handle and lanyard that are nice accessories. A little cumbersome to program the first few times, but once you get the hang of it it is very quick and easy.
Pros: Battery life, output options, size, and durability
Cons: Programming a little cumbersome at first...
