5.11 Moab 6

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on October 21, 2013
Products was great. waiting a few day shy of a month after first placing my order before it even shipped was unacceptable. This was for a product that said "in stock. Ships within 1-2 days". Optics Planet customer service was a nightmare. Every email and every phone call resolved nothing, all they could do was give me excuses as to why my order hadn't shipped with no solutions to the problem. Great pricing but the worst customer service I have had from an online store.
Pros: great value, well made, lots of organization ...

From EDC to day hike in the woods

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on March 30, 2013
When my MOAB 6 came in the mail, I was expecting a tiny bag to throw just a couple little things into if I was going to be out for the day.i was blown away at the ammount of items i could put in this pack and not over load it. One thing that I like about this bag is that my ipad fits easily into the cargo pouch. I have always loved 5.11's products for being well built and durable. The MOAB 6 is no exception, this bag is made to last and will not tear or frey like other companies bags. Although I am not using this bag for concealed carry. I took an airsoft gun similar in size to a glock 26 and put it in the bag try out this feature on the bag. The gun was easily drawn from the bag and I think that any concealed carry license holder would love that feature on this bag. The cons to the concealed carry pouch is that if you stuff the bag with other items, it will mag gaining access difficult. Also, the size of the pistol you are putting in the bag must be a small gun because the pocket is not very big. Any concealed carry firearm should do just fine. Over all I am competely satisfied with the quality of this bag. I know that it will last me a long time and with the under $60 price tag and free shipping from Optics Planet, you cant go wrong!
Pros: Heavy duty construction, very organized, compact
Cons: If overloaded the concealed carry pouch is difficult to gain access to...

Perfect for EDC

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on March 3, 2013
I was pleasantly surprised by how nice this bag is. Built very well with heavy duty material. Its perfect for what I wanted it for. Day and night glasses, hand sanitizer, flashlight, knife, cell phone, pen, ect. All the stuff I use everyday but hate to pocket. My Nikon 510 inside its carry case will even fit inside it with more room to spare. I have the rush 24 also but the moab 6 will see everyday use. For the price you just cannot go wrong.
Pros: Build quality, Material quality, Design

511 Moab 6 bag

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, WA Written on March 29, 2012
First off I love this bag! If you like to conceal carry but it's not always practical than you will love this bag too. I has enough space to carry a full size pistol in its easily accessible secret pocket. I have mine set up as a 72 hour get home bag as well. It can hold four water bottles, first aid kit, pistol, extra mags, sunglasses, a pocket designed to fit your cell phone or an ipod, and more. I've also used it as a range bag! If you are on the fence with this bag just buy it, you won't regret it
Pros: A certified man bag
Cons: I now carry a man purse...

Tactical organizer

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on June 12, 2011
Very comfortable city organizer. Well, or if you want to bag - Handy. There are lots of hidden pockets for money, documents, and of course the weapons (of course talking about COP)!
There is a very handy pocket for glasses of the fleece.
The color chosen as in the photo, the reason - I think that color less susceptible to contamination, with all the love Russian people to the black, I choose the logic and convenience.
The entire perimeter of the exclusion bags back its wall are lines of MOLLE, thus expanding the functional bags, with additional offices. For example, I think to buy thermal cover for the bottle.
Sewn bag, like all products of 5.11 is very high quality, despite the large amount of detail.
Very pleased with the sling-strap that goes over your shoulder. It is governed in any direction, no shoulder presses, you can quickly detach mount and get rid of the bags, which are sometimes very useful.
Itself is very compact bag, the crowd does not prevent any owner or those who surround him, as opposed to a backpack.
Noshe him on his left side, left arm is handy for body bags, while walking to create a sense of luxury!
Lightning, well, here as always, there are no comments YKK and that's it.
Perhaps the only drawback is the bag is not quite convenient hole for the headphone cord with a small bag under the phone player located on the strap, but I do not use this bag, so that the special inconvenience this does not feel ...

Once again sorry for bad english ...

If you're expecting an organized Maxpedition don't buy it!

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, LA Written on May 23, 2011
i was looking for an organized Maxpedition Noatak replacement. i was extremely frustrated with the lack of organization in the Maxped gear slingers. when i first saw this bag i thought it hit that sweet spot. i couldn't be more wrong.

the bag's strap is WAAAAAAY to narrow for comfortable carry and 5.11's work around...the padded strap cover (can't think of the proper word) doesn't do the job. it slides all over the place and is a mess. removing it and you have a narrow strap that feels as if its ready to break at any moment.

the organization of the bag is great but the fabric is so pliable that your gear is either mashed together or thrown about inside the bag despite all the pockets and slots.

the concealment pocket is a joke and if you load any amount of gear in the bag you'll have problems.

i was down to just my weapon. a flashlight, pens and a magazine before i just said forget it and went back to my Maxped.

buyer beware.
Pros: very organized, nice concept, flawed execution
Cons: extremely 'soft' material. sling bag strap is inadequate, concealment pocket is too small...
