Aimpoint Pro Patrol Rifle Optic

by woody, from United States, WA Written on August 26, 2014
nice optic. There seems to be more night vision settings than daylight settings, but I can live with that as there are enough options for non enhanced vision. The mount fits an M4 properly, allowing the Aimpoint to co-witness with the normal front sight base and flip up rear sight.

The flip up lense covers are a nice addition, and work well. The mounting system attaches to the upper in a very positive fashion, and the spring loaded knurled fitting seems to enable attachment with precise torque, time after time. The battery is not a common found item, but will not need replacement for a very long time. Compared to a Vortex Sparc this sight is more compact and the control is far easier to use than the buttons on the Vortex.

This appears to be a robust and reliable red dot sight, at a good price point....

Awesome product...Aimpoint red dot really made a difference.

by BRUCEW, from United States, CA Written on August 26, 2014
iI had seen these demo'ed by Larry Vickers on TV when he used them and made them at the planet in Europe. I was not sure the expense was worth it, until I finally saw it on sale and went for it. Easy to install, install battery, and use. My accuracy at 50 yards improved immediately on the first visit to the range. I would advise anyone to save up and buy one. Like anything else...you get what you pay for....

Excellent sight

by Bear, from United States, GA Written on August 26, 2014
Based upon my experience I feel the Aimpoint PRO is an excellent red dot sight and is the lowest priced red dot made by Aimpoint. For me it has worked great on everything from a 22 semi-auto rifle to a lever action 45-70. I started using red dot sights when my aging eyes had trouble seeing iron sights. There are lots of less expensive red dot sights on the market; however, I do not think you will find a better one for the price than the Aimpoint PRO....

Aimpoint PRO

Neither cheap in price or quality but definitely an excellent value when you consider all that you're getting with this package... Aimpoint quality and reliability with the added bonus of a factory installed mount....

Seems to be a great product.

by TR1, from United States, SC Written on August 18, 2014
Only had it for a week, so I can't speak to long term use or the battery life. It appears to be a typical quality Aimpoint product. Night Vision compatible, flip up covers, and mount, all for a great price. If I need another holographic sight, I will definitely buy another Aimpoint Pro. Only gave four stars, since I have not used extensively or tested battery life....

Quality Red Dot Site

by ShtBrd, from United States, FL Written on August 17, 2014
I have had this optic for a little over a month and have about 4 trips to the range with this optic. I have it currently mounted on my Ak-47 with 11" barrel. The install was flawless as it comes with everything you need to mount on a picatinny rail and has adjustable spacer so you can get optimal height for your set-up. Taking the optic on and off the gun is very convenient with the positive torque mechanism and still holds zero after taking on and off. Siting in was straight forward and a breeze. The 2 MOA dot is very crisp and not overly sized as some red dots are. It has a great range of intensities for daytime shooting, I have not used the NV setting. The flip up lenses are a great addition and are of descent quality. I have shot the optic out to 115 yds (limited by range) and the optic has been awesome and fun to shoot. I feel like I would not have any problems going out further to 200 yds. I will just have to make the trip to the longer yard range to find out. Last but not least, the optic looks great atop the gun. IF you are in the market for a mid price red dot, you will not be disappointed by this one as you get a great shooting optic & a ton of features for the price. I just have not found anything bad to say about it....

wonder if new or refurb

by newbuy, from United States, NC Written on August 12, 2014
got my scope today however I wonder if it is used , return or refurb as there are gouges scratches on casing , battery already installed, fingerprints on front flip cover, and missing the thicker Multilanguage manual. I emailed them today hope they reply and will most likely call them tomorrow to see their answer. if it is a used, return or refurb that is just too much hassle as they advertised as new and refunds usually happen slow in general will keep you all updated.

however if the scope was like new I would like it and it is lighter than I thought it would be. If I got a new product I would have liked it, and would recommend it if you got a brand new one. Again will keep you all posted on what happens...

My first Red Dot Sight.....

by William Erdmann, from United States, FL Written on August 3, 2014
I recently purchased the Aimpoint PRO Red Dot Sight. Since it is my first red dot sight I was a little ambivalent
to purchase this expensive piece of optics. It arrived in about a week, and I am very content with it.
It is mounted on a Bushmaster AR15 and sighting it in was a breeze with the laser beam at a
25 to 50 yards distance. I am amazed how easy it is to lay down fire very accurately with both eyes open.
I highly recommend this optics for anyone who hunts or target shoot. Great purchase!...
Pros:
  • QUALITY OPTIC
  • Sturdy Built
Cons:
  • Lower intensity settings don't show up as a red dot..
  • Cover is expensive and rips easily
Best Used for:
  • hunting and shooting

Excellent Red Dot

by FAS, from United States, AL Written on July 30, 2014
This is my first red dot sight, so I didn't know what to expect. It was everything I had hoped for and more. It was easy to install, easy to sight in, and works great. Very fast target acquistion. I've used it only up to 100 yards, but am shooting better than I ever did with iron sights....
Pros:
  • Excellent quality and value
Cons:
  • none yet
