Awesome Sight!

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, TN Written on May 5, 2014
I have been shopping around for optics for my AR for several months now. I was leaning toward a cheaper optic but several of my fellow army buddies and SWAT buds sueded me into holding off until I had the money to buy a quality sight. So I held off and saved little more and bough the aimpoint. It is totally worth the money or I wouldn't go through the trouble to leave a review!
Pros: Extremely well built/rugged.

aimpoint pro red dot sight

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on March 24, 2014
So like allot of people into red dot type optics i too fall into a category of people that are usually either aimpoint or eotech fans. Ive been an eotech guy for years but wanted to try an aimpoint out for a newer rifle id purchased and so figured heres the chance. The aimpoint pro had good reviews in magazines so when it was on sale i didnt hesitate . It seemed a good deal seeing as it had scope covers and a mount . The sight is ready to go out of the box and as im not super impressed it was of good quality and value . Mu personal gripes were the 2 moa dot and the annoying halo effect at high settings . I was told on the highest setting the halo effect wasnt really visible but i determined that to be false . Sure it was diminished in its brighness but still noticeable. Now dont get me wrong i dont hate this sight i just like eotechs better. Still. I also wish i had an option of a 4moa dot . The rifle i mounted it on was a sig 556r so i wasnt considering it for long distance precision shooting . I just picked up a scar so maybe the two will pair up better. Regardless if your already a red dot fan youll probably love this optic or the comp ml3 which i feel would have been better for me having the option for a 4moa dot and sacrificing the night vision capabilities. I just didnt want to pay more and have to drop another 80 or so dollars on a mount. Sorry if this review was all over the place . wrap up . Quality product if the halo effect doesnt bother you and your looking for a ...

Sets the Red dot standard

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on February 15, 2014
The ruggedness, ease of setup, and battery life set the standard for red dots. The included mount co-witnesses AR sights out of the box and includes a quick-release ratchet mount which can be removed easily with no tools, but won't let you over-tighten. You can also remove the mount spacer, and have a low-profile mount. Includes flip-up caps, a nice touch.

The only con, there are fewer brightness settings than other AimPoint models, though the included ones are more than adequate for both indoor and outdoor range use.

For my needs - civilian recreation & competition - this is the best sight of this style for the money.
Pros: Best value for the money
Cons: Limited number of brightness settings...

Just as expected

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, CA Written on February 11, 2014
After much debate between EoTech and AimPoint, I decided to give the AimPoint a try. Main reason was the durability and the extended battery life over the Eotech. I didn't want a scope that might not ready when I need it. Sighted it in last weekend and put some rounds through my AR. Works awesome, easy to set up, sight in and remove. Seems to hold zero no problem. Very pleased with it.
Pros: Battery life, durability, ability to maintain zero.

Aimpoint Pro: best RDS under $500

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, MD Written on January 26, 2014
The Aimpoint Pro delivers impressive battery life, durability and value in the sub-$500 range.

Adjusting the dot is easy with gloves on due to tactile adjustment knob. The pro holds zero and will withstand abuse & elements that civilians will likely never encounter. It's always ready for duty because you can leave it on for 3yrs and shoot it with the lens covers on. I'm very pleased with my PRO.
Pros: Durability, battery life, tactile control, free mount & lens covers
Cons: Large mount knob...

Great sight

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on January 25, 2014
This is the best red dot sight I've used and the best value I've found. I tried the Eotech but this is just a better sight and it's easier to turn on and off, and I like the 2MOA dot better.
Pros: cost
Cons: none...

Aim like a pro

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on January 10, 2014
This is a great red dot optic. Best deal at this price point. It may cause me to sell my comp m4s and buy two more of these. Battery life is less than the comp m4, but still about 2.5 years always on.
Pro uses an odd size battery vs AA, but it bought a six pack by Duracell and I'm good till 2021.
Pros: Quality, price point
Cons: Non standard battery ...
