great sight, easy installation

by Josh, from United States, NV Written on December 3, 2014
Installed the sight on a Ambush arms 5.56 for deer hunting season. Instalation was fairly easy. The quick disconect system works well. I am left handed and wish it was an ambi but, it's hard to find setups like that so I won't count it against them. Zeroing took 9 shots. I wish the sight had .25min adjustments but at this price point I guess .5min is as accurate as you will get. Once installed, the sight worked great. Lots of dimming levels and battery life held all season with no failures. Very accurate out to 250 yards (as far as I tested). I took two deer this year with it and both were clean. Very little to no parallax issues and great tracking on a moving targets.

At the price point I have not used a better red dot sight....
Pros:
  • Pricing against other options
  • Light weight, compact size, clean dot, rugged
  • accurate,holds zero,crisp clear image
Cons:
  • adjustments could be finer
  • no ambi disconect
Best Used for:
  • hunting, range shooting

Excellent Optic

by John007, from United States, CA Written on November 30, 2014
Solid build quality. Clear optics. The fact that it includes a quick disconnect mount makes this a very good value. I was considering a more budget red dot but was swayed by the fact that I couldn't find anyone who had a bad word for Aimpoint. The PRO costs more than the budget optics but it proves that you get what you pay for....
Pros:
  • Quality, clarity and price
Cons:
  • None what so ever

great for entry level

by khon, from United States, CA Written on November 29, 2014
Simple easy to use. I've only been shooting AR15s for two years. This is the first red dot I bought. I have a colt M4 6290 that that I mounted it on. It takes just seconds to take it on and off the rails. Zeroing in took me a few minutes to hit 1in groups at 25 yards. It appears very durable. I believe a got alot for my money. Yes, I recommend buying this....

Red Potato scope ...

by Don, from United States, CA Written on November 28, 2014
I really can't figure out why everyone raves about this product unless it's really a statement about how bad all the competition is... Build quality is good, but the optics are terrible. The red dot is only correctly formed, i.e., something which approximates a red "dot", at the lower power "daylight" settings. As the power is turned up, either the optics "train" actually defocuses the "dot" turning it into a red potato, or the loss of coherence is starting, or both. At the max setting, the laser diode definitely becomes saturated and spills light everywhere. All the "glitter" is from the diode losing coherence coupled with poor optics scattering light everywhere.

Does anybody know of a red dot product built by real optics engineers?...

Lives up to its reputation

by Lycan004, from United States, OH Written on November 27, 2014
This sight come with everything needed to start shooting out the box. I did a lot of research to decide what reflex sight to get and base on my needs this is perfect. I needed a sight that is virtually maintenance free, strongly build, with simple mechanical controls. I will eventually get the LaRue LT150 mount but for now the supplied mount is great. It has solid lock-up solid. I really like that it installs quickly using a steel thumb nub with torque limiter. Only reason I'm getting the LT150 is for the lower 1/3 co-witness, otherwise I leave it as is....

Aimpoint PRO Patrol Rifle Optic Red Dot Riflescope

by JP, from United States, KY Written on November 19, 2014
These Aimpoint PRO's are entry level for Aimpoint, but are some of the best Red Dots on the Market. Super Sharp 2 MOA reticle, included mount for 1913, included flip up lens covers, and best of all -- 30,000 hour battery life. That's over 3 years on a single battery, so no need to worry about your battery dying on you at the worst possible time. This purchase was really easy for me to justify, since there was no need to spend over $100 on a mount, or an additional $40 for lens caps. You can really tell that this thing is solid, too. Highly Recommended....
Pros:
  • Built in Flip Up Lens Caps
  • 30,000 hour Battery Life
  • Built in Picatinny Mount
  • Super Strong Durability
Cons:
  • None

Awesome Optic

by David, from United States, MO Written on November 18, 2014
This is my first AimPoint optic and I am thrilled with it. Love the ability to shoot with both eyes open and focus on target. Easy to drill steel plates at 50 and 100 yds. Haven't done anything beyond that yet. For zeroing used the dimmest setting I could see so as not to obscure target and minimize the starburst effect on the brighter dot settings. Love the easy to use mount. I do plan to order the clear front lens cover and don't know why they would include only the rear one. What is the point of one clear and one regular plastic cover? Oh well. No other complaints and would highly recommend this product....

Excellent target pickup fast in any light condition. Currently on AR and plan to put on shotgun for deer hunting. Impressed with ruggedness and plan to purchase a second for the shotgun.Being able to use with multiplier really extends useful range. Awesome!...
