This is a really good product, the glass is very clear and bright, the weight is really good and it comes with protective covers.. The only negative item is that the binoculars range between the eyes does not spread wide enough for my preference... But I do recommend buying this product!!

After going through a few pairs of cheap binoculars, I stumbled upon these. As soon as you pick these up you can tell there not cheap. They have a solid feeling with a rubber like coating for durability & easy grip. When I first looked through these, my first thought was "WOW!, These are nice". Very bright and clear. The focus is great, and doesn't need "fine tuning" as often as other pairs I have tried. I really like the lens caps that you can leave on all the time. You can flick them off with your pinky finger when you want to see something and they will just hang there. No more lost lens caps. The strap seems to be high quality and has several take-up sections for larger users. After trying many different brands including much higher priced ones, I quickly came back to the Alpen 10x42's. Although I haven't heard of the Alpen brand before this, I did some research and learned the company was formed by 2 former Bausch & Lomb managers, and their products are made in Japan & China. Pros: very good clarity, nice contrasting definition, like the adjustable eye cups
Cons: center focus knob doesn't seem rock solid

First used while turkey hunting. Glassed birds across 800-900 yard field, besides heat wave distortion could easily see tom on edge of field in the shadows. Not a whole lot of diff. between my father-in-laws' Swarovski binos.
