Excellent Front Sight for All Lighting

by Bob the Bear, from United States, TX Written on September 8, 2014
I purchased this Ameriglo GL-212-OR-Q front sight to match the Ameriglo GL-405PRA rear sight. It is a perfect match. The front sight is stock height .165 and .140 wide. The orange square surrounding the tritium insert center is very quick and easy to see in bright to low light situations. The tritium takes over from low light to no light situations. The dimensions of the front sight with the black Ameriglo rear sight above gives quick sight acquisition since the rear notch is .180 allowing more light around the front sight. This front sight is superior to my Meprolight which it replaced....
Pros:
  • value
  • Brightness
  • Design
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • concealed carry
  • Self defense

Ameriglo ProGlo Front Sight

by Booger Red, from United States, TX Written on September 8, 2014
The Ameriglo ProGlo front sight is a quality product. Fits perfectly and provides an excellent sight picture when used with the matching rear sight. I install these sights on all my pistols. And Oprics Planet, as usual, has the best price....

These sights really help

by Jimmy, from United States, NM Written on September 3, 2014
In daylight it's MUCH quicker to get a correct aim with the AmeriGlo front sight.
At night the glow allows picking up the front sight with ease, so I even bought a second front sight for another pistol.
However, in retrospect I wish I'd purchased both the front and rear sights as in darkness it's only so helpful to see the front one only.
Especially now that I finally have a Glock rear sight tool....

Great Sight

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, LA Written on August 25, 2013
I paired this front sight with the yellow operator rear. I love this setup. Easily acquired sight picture, which is much better than Glock OEM in the daylight. Nighttime lineup of sights is also quick and easy, since I have green up front and yellow in the rear. I'm very pleased with the results.
Pros: Easy sight picture, day or night
Cons: None...

Ameriglo night sight

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on July 20, 2013
Installed the front sight only because I have an adjustable rear sight on my Glock 21.
I would recommend buying the front sight tool, you can get the plastic Glock front sight off with a thin needle nose plier's but installing very small bolt can be a pain.
Bought a up-graded front sight tool and glad I did.
Pros: Shows up great in low light and no light
Cons: Buy the tool to remove and install the sight...

Started off with Warren Tactical with tritium fronts and went to Ameriglo Orange Square, Hackathorn Rear. Much more accurate with Ameriglo, its bright day and night. If you buy it you will see, it's awesome. Quick, quick, and accurate.
Pros: Easy to see in day, square front sits nice with hackathorn rear, good night time

Best of all worlds

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on March 30, 2013
Awesome unique sights that combine the best of all worlds. You get a night sight and a protected fiber optics sight all in one. Awesome. I coupled mine with a serrated matte black rear sight.
Pros: You get it all. Night sights and a protected fiber optic in a square format.
Cons: I didn't realize it would take a little modification to install. Luckily I had a buddy who knew exactly what to do. Had to grind down just a little material from the dovetail to get it installed. ...
