Pros: Identical to RE glasses at 1/3 the price
Cons: none

I've owned Randolph Engineering aviator sunglasses for years, was always impressed with the quality, but after losing my last pair, I realized AO sunglasses were the original in this style and RE was essentially a copy of what AO created.
After scouring the internet for reviews, I took the risk and purchased the AO glasses hoping they would look and feel like my lost glasses.
After placing the order, I found my lost glasses, so I was given the opportunity to have a side-by-side comparison of the two.
These glasses are identical in size, weight, fit, and finish to my RE glasses. There is NO REASON to spend $180 for RE glasses.
If you're considering these but are concerned that they must somehow be inferior in quality due to the very reasonable price, rest assured in the quality of this product.
I'll say it again, clearly.
In a side-by-side comparison, American Optical Flight Gear sunglasses are identical to Randolph Engineering Aviator Sunglasses for a ...

These are high quality and solid feeling. I have had 2 of these pairs of sunglasses stolen from me. the first was from randolf engineering and the second was from here. Randolf's cost over 3 times as much. It's not worth it. American optics makes ever so slightly lower quality ones that still feel solid and well made but they shipped much quicker and I obviously enjoyed them since I am coming back for another pair. Highly recommended product.

Definitely a top notch pair of glasses, especially for the price. Optics planet had the best price that I could find online. The only minor negative that I could offer in the experience was Optics Planet's website not allowing me to see photographs of the various configurations available of the glasses. I ended up ordering 5 different pairs, picked the pair that I liked, and sent the other pairs back. Optics Planet refunded my costs without issue. I'll be ordering another pair from them.

This sunglasses looks real good. The quality and craftmanship is superb. What I like most is the ease of putting it on and taking it off because of the bayonet type temple design.

Took about an extra month to receive the sunglasses due to out of stock. It would benefit opticplanet to let customers know that items are out of stock or on back order when purchasing not afterwards.

Simplicity, heritage, and style set these aviators apart from the competition. That they remain a great value is simply astounding. These frames look terrific on and the quality is unsurpassed. Do yourself a favor and get the polarized lenses...well worth the money. Bottom line, if you are looking for great, long-lasting and throughly un-trendy sunglasses, look no further. These are, in essence, the shaded equivalent of Shuron eyeglasses. There aren't many of these classic American comapnies left, so support them while you can!

I have a couple of pairs of sunglasses that are about double the price. The 55MM polarized lenses are at least as good for driving and may well be better. I plan to get more to keep a pair in each car.
