lightweight and compact unit

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on April 2, 2014
My experience shows that all night vision scopes are in general bigger than regular daytime scopes. I always take a lot of different stuff when go hunting so I feel every extra pound and it is a big deal for me. My CO-MR is rather lightweight and compact so I can keep it in my bag until darkness. The whole concept of making something like this system was doomed to success. You do not have to re-zero anything you just put the system in front of your scope and that is it. No additional settings are required. I would recommend this device to all hunters who used to have 2-3 day long hunting....

CO-MR Gen 3 Bravo w/o MG

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, VA Written on January 21, 2014
The Armasight CO-MR is one of the best options on the market for someone who is looking for a clip on night vision system. The quality of the product matched with the price point is fairly competitive when compared to other clip on systems.
Before I go on and explain my experience with CO-MR, let me first say that I am by no means a night vision expert. Prior to this, the only experience with night vision I have had is a couple of old school Gen 1 weapons sights that my friends have, and the PVS-14s from my job.
The CO-MR comes in the same nylon bag that PVS-14s are issued with, it contains all the extra accessories that you need to adapt it too your weapon system as long as you have a 1913 rail to mount it on in front of your optic. I was using a SCAR 17s with an IOR 1.5-8x26 Trident mounted with a LaRue LT158 mount. That pushed the CO-MR around 2-3 notches from the end of my 1913 rail. So with what I would call an intermediate optic, I used up all of my rail space (37 slots of 1913 rail). Just something to think about if you are looking at mounting this on a carbine or something with a shorter top rail.
On that note, you need to have the center of your optic raised about 1.44-1.5 inches above your rail to have it lined up with the CO-MR. (One quality which makes this a great option for AR systems). I will admit, the QD mount seemed a little flimsy initially, but after shooting several strings with mounts and dismounts between them, I feel better about it. As for POI shi...

Initial CO-MR Bravo Gen 3 w/o MG

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, VA Written on January 6, 2014
As you can see from my pros/ cons, Optics planet dropped the ball on this one. Long story short, I initially ordered a CO-MR Ghost Gen 3, OP messed my order up, not once, but twice. Failing to send me the product both times, and then was unable to explain to me why. So I called Armasight directly, explained the situation to them, and they handled the mess that OP had made. Great guys at Armasight, Steven B. over there did an excellent job. Any how, on to the product.

As you can see from the title, I received a Gen 3 Bravo with out a Manual Gain. I got that instead of the Ghost, because that is all that Armasight had at the time, and they offered it to me as a substitute. I was a little concerned at first but, they told me that if I wasn't happy with the Bravo, then I could send it back to either have them put a Ghost tube in it, or for a complete refund. So now I have a Bravo.

Before I go on and explain my experience with CO-MR, let me first say that I am by no means a night vision expert. Prior to this, the only experience with night vision I have had is a couple of old school gen 1 weapons sights that my friends have, and the PVS-14s from work.

quite satisfied with the scope

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on January 9, 2013
Im glad to see that interest in NV devices is increasing day by day. It was pretty difficult to find some detailed info about the units before, but now as Ive noticed, this market is being developed powerfully. I really needed a reliable clip-on system for my rifle and had some doubts on which would be the best choice from different NV manufacturers. Finally chose the Gen 3 CO-MR-3 Alpha clip on unit from Armasight and after several weeks in use I can assure that the guys from Armasight know well what they are doing. Anyone who is aware of the case knows that Gen 3 range is the best choice and is worth the money but if to search well you will know that within Gen 3 line there are also many particularities which are to be studied well. To say there is rather a big difference between Bravo and Alpha and Pinnacle specifications though all of them belong to Gen 3. As an outcome would like to conclude that the scope functions perfectly. I have not been in touch closely with clip on systems before but the CO-MR-3 has brought positive feelings only. Comparing with some Gen 3 monoculars which I used to try the CO-MR-3 is fully competitive (I mean quality level) quick and high-grade day-night conversion, handy design the unit is a great Gen 3 sample! ...
