Very bright picture - with extra illuminator

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on April 16, 2014
It's my first NVRS; I had a chance to compare it with ATN MK 350 and MK390;
It gives significantly brighter picture than ATN but somehow less crispy clear picture.
AT first the rubber coat is nice and good for silet use but the front cap is really tough to get on and off. Rubber to rubber is really tight.
Magnification is not really 2,5X; and it gives somehow fish-eye picture. Good in the very centre. I'd recommend extra IR illuminator with all gen1+ NVRS. I use Pulsar 805nm and with that i can illuminate up to 100 meters.
Pros: good price, very bright
Cons: not really 2,5X magnification; fish-eye effect...

Extending the range!

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, CA Written on October 26, 2013
Ok guys...if you really want to reach out with your OPMOD NV scopes, this 1 million candlepower, IR spotlight fills the bill. I bought one thinking it wasn't going to be all that great...but I was wrong! Even with a cheap digital NV monocular I could reach into the deep, dark shadows and see very clearly..at over 300 yards!!! This light is worth every penny. It's a little pricy...the IR filters for it are about $90 if you choose to use your own spotlight, but cheaper if you buy the whole unit...and it's rechargeable and comes with the battery and both chargers...wall and car. The downside is it's big and heavy and it's will get hot after about a minute of constant use...so ya have to let it cool off a little...then turn it back on...other than that...it's great!

Pros: Does what it's supposed to do
Cons: Could use better illuminator...

Great value for the price

Commifornia doesn't like the idea of home defense with night vision devices, especially with an illuminator attached. This state sucks.. but that said, without the attached illuminator, this scope is perfect for house clearing.
Pros: good 200-300 meter night vision (especially enhanced by IR laser)
Cons: HUGE.. could be smaler...

First NV scope

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on August 18, 2013
This was my first entry into NV scopes. I had some expectations and was a bit hesitant of a $400 scope of any sort. I did not expect the image to be as good as this one is. I think the range of view is adequate. I can make out clear definition of a target at 40-50 yards. That being said. It will allow you to see into the dark corners. If I find at some time I need a scope that works day or night, is not setup on a dedicated gun and I need a 200-300 yard line of sight or I want to read name tags at 100 yards in total darkness. I will spend the extra $ to upgrade to the next step. For now this thing works just fine at home and out camping or hunting
Pros: Cost, Ease of use, Quick Setup, Clear Image
Cons: A bit heavy IMHO...

Great Value for the Cost

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, CA Written on April 27, 2013
So far, this Gen 1+ works as advertised. It is useful at 1/4 or larger moon in open fields and has an IR to peer into the shadows out to 25 yards. Better IR lights can increase this shadow visibility range. It is only suggested for 5.56mm recoil by the Optics Planet video. Like any product, it will have to be tested for reliability after recoil tests.
Pros: Good Gen 1+ optics with IR to peer into the shadows
Cons: Will have to wait for reliability after recoil tests...

This is a great bang for your buck night vision scope. It's massive and weighs a considerable amount, but that's a small trade off for having night vision capability without spending an arm and a leg.
Pros: price
Cons: weight ...

armasight opmod gen1 rs10 limited edition gen 1 scope

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, VA Written on February 6, 2013
I took scope out of box installed battey and turned on scope lit up appeared ok. the trouble started after mounting the scope on my remington 700 bdl in 22-250. As I attempted to sight in the scope I put up a target at 25 yds and fired 1 round noted the impact point of the bullet and made apropreite adjustments. then fired 1 round again. this round moved more than i thought it should. made another adjustment. this locked close. so i moved to 50 yds. again 1 rnd. again adjustment, again not concestant with the adjustment. and so on after a box of 20 rnds i took of the scope and examend it. apeared to be loose on the mount checked bolts appeared tight put back onthe gun back to the range. try again seemed to get worst. at one point it apeared to move without adjustment several inches without adjustment. the gun was sandbagged during all shooting.I took the scope off to send bsck. As I was putting it back in the box to shipp back I noticed that the front section of the scope was loose moving up down left and right just slightly. I returned to opyicplanet for repair or replacement. I was notified today that because it appeared to have been mounted and used that they could not process my return. this isn't what I EXPECTED HOW COULD I FIND OUT THAT IT DIDN'T HOLD POINT OF AIM WITHOUT MOUNTING IT AND ATTEMPTING TO SIGHT IT IN. i BELEIVE THAT THE THE FRONT PORTION OF THE SCOPE CAM LOOSE UNDER RECOIL. WHICH WOULD SEEM TO BE A DEFECT IN MANURFACTURING. I will b e in contact later toda...
