worthy unit for the money spent

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on April 11, 2014
Ive been shopping around for a while already and finally decided on Orion 4x. I will use it on my Remington to call coyotes in the back yard. I have not made any shot yet but I checked how it performed in the dark night with no moon. With IR on I could detect even small objects from 50 yards. This is enough for me so it is OK I did not buy Gen 2. Though, one day I will probably do it for other needs. By the way, Orion 4x comes with detachable infra red illuminator as included accessory....

Questionable company and service

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on March 27, 2014
I ordered this for a customer Feb/2014.
Had issue with cross hairs so sent it into Armasight in California with a check to upgrade to Vampire 3x. Never got the scope but was told on 3 different occasions it will be shipped but got NO email or phone call telling me so or tracking number. My business account was hacked into by a mobile phone user in San Francisco area 3 days after shipping the scope and upgrade check to the company in that area. March 27th I called for a refund check and recalled there accounting department to make sure it would be sent that same day and they told me yes.. Well will see but something dosen't seem right. Everyone at that company has Ukranian/ Russian last names so maybe it's a front company?
Hopefully my customer gets his money back but I will be writing to Zanders my wholesaler and the company.
Pros: it works for close range
Cons: return service staff are not helpful...

Armasight Orion 4x Gen 1+ Night Vision Rifle Scope Product Review

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, CT Written on February 16, 2014
The Armasight Orion 4x Gen 1+ Night Vision Rifle Scope for a Gen 1 Night Vision Scope is a Definite improvement over a previous noisy~gyro/sceechish? sounding Russian Manufactured Generation 1 3X scope I had bought & returned 7 years back?(Not purchased from here!)
The Armasite Orion 4X Scope is built like a tank! and rubber coated + quite. Also has much improved overall night vision picture quality/clarity under starlight conditions (yah I know it's a Gen 1 but $$$ less than a Gen2) And also with the new and improved? IR810 Illuminator - *Note "My Original IR810" (WITH an internal star plate seen behind the front lens on Original version IR810 Illuminator's lens when it worked before it Failed) Well with the replacement- brighter IR810 Illuminator replacement in Total darkness *Note#2 (IR red glow can been seen more so on the new IR810) Night Vision Capability is Very Good . A Very sturdy built "Work Horse" Unit for the money. I hope it will take.308 semi- auto recoil over time?
Pros: Value / Well Built
Cons: IR810 infrared illuminator Failed after little use...

orion 4x

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on January 28, 2013
At first was a little leary of paying close to $500 for a nightvision scope that was a generation one......but it meets all my expectations of taking down a coyote at night sighted it in for a hundred yards and stayed in a 1 inch tight group on a ar15 very good job armasight! Very very very good deal for low price Im no professional on night vision but do know there are better generations than 1 like 2 3 4 and so on but i dont feel like droping over a grand on something i wont use all time
Pros: very sturdy, nice shape and has rubber water resistant coating, pretty damn clear
Cons: Not really one except for size and weight but for less than $500 who can complain...

my great choice

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on December 13, 2012
My new purchase Orion 4x impressed me just forthright. I tested it the first night near my house and could observe the neighborhood clearly. Certainly, I didn't expect to get a device of such a great quality! There is nothing extra, just all the necessary functions plus firm housing and of course the shot accuracy, due to the red cross reticle. The good 4x magnification without affection on the image always brings good results. In the star light I can aim the objects up to 100 meters that is great for me. Undoubtedly, Orion 4x differs from the average Gen1 rifle scopes as its quality is much higher and the package of features is unique so I would highly recommend Orion 4x! ...

Armasight Orion 4 review

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on August 28, 2012
I purchased this scope from Optics-planet a couple of weeks ago, It is very well constructed rubber armored solid aluminum body. I mounted it on my AR-15 in 6.8 SPC caliber and took it to the rifle range. It is easy to sight it in during daylight hours using the lens cap, as long as the sun is at your back. I sighted it in at 50 yards in 4 rounds. I then took it to my friends ranch for some night shooting and got around a 1/2 inch group at 50 yards. I was unable to try it at longer range because the shooting bench was full of wasps nests (four of them as big as both fists). It did really good at 50 yards from a prone firing position using a bi-pod. I am certain I could see hundreds of yards but my IR illuminator was not working. I think it may have been damaged while tightening the mounting ring, but Armasight is sending me a replacement. They have been really good from start to finish. I feel really confident that even if I have issues, they will be right there to help, and even will let you upgrade. I love that part.
Pros: Great Value & Customer Service
Cons: It is a bit heavy due to it's really good construction, Ir illuminator is on the fritz...

Armasight Orion 4 review

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on August 25, 2012
I recently purchased this sight and I am quite impressed. I sighted it in the other day after mounting it on my AR-15 in 6.8 spc caliber and at 50 yds. during daylight with the lens cap closed it was quite easy to see the reticule, and make adjustments. I was unable to get it really tight, but I think that was me and not the sight. Still I was grouping around 1 inch or so. Steven B. from Armasight customer service was very helpful prior to my purchase, and after as well. I have been having some trouble with the ir illuminator and unable to contact Steven B. from Armasight's customer service so the night time review is on hold.
Pros: Price, great customer service, ability to use day (ith the lens cap closed) or night
Cons: It is a bit heavy due to it's really good construction, Ir illuminator is on the fritz...
