Pros:  When they work, they're great.
Cons:  They don't always work because they drain batteries, even in storage
Would recommend:  no

I have around 20 of these lights, many are in drawers for emergency use only, and they've leeched the power out of the batteries when I reach for them in said emergencies. Don't know if it's a defect in the light or the battery or both, but those supposedly 10-year-shelf-life batteries are lasting me about 5 years---with no use!
