Great with the illuminator

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, SC Written on October 20, 2013
Decent nvm for the money. The gain is pretty sensitive and a pain to set right. The unit works great in twilight or with a bright moon but requires the illuminator to se anything at all with just starlight. The illuminator works very well and the over all picture quality is very good considering the price of the unit. Depth of field is kind of shallow within 50 yards but gets better at longer distances. Unit doesn't have any way to attach a lanyard which is annoying if you use it from an elevated position
Pros: Good clarity for the money, lightweight considering its size
Cons: Gain is a PITA to set right, black and white blinds you when you take it away from you eye....

Best Digital Night Vision!

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, CA Written on March 4, 2013
Digital has arrived and DNVM is probably the best digital NV on the market currently. It easily outperforms my good old yukon ranger. Despite having less magnification than yukon ranger (4X vs 5X), I can see farther with DNVM-4 due to better light amplification and higher resolution image. It produces color image with sufficient light (not necessary day light, street light will do). The down side is the color display drains battery quickly. I use Tenergy LiFePO4 rechargeable battery and it works fine.
Pros: Gen 2+ performance with color image for a fraction of price
Cons: OLED color display drains battery quickly, no rail to mount an external IR...

atn dnvm-4 digital night vision monocular

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, NY Written on January 20, 2013
This unit works very good in open fields making objects visible with just a small amount of starlight. I can view up to 400 plus ft unless I look at the wooded areas, then I need to use the infrared. I am new to these products, but I can say they are fun to use.
Pros: light weight, good light grasp, very easy to use
Cons: drains battery with in hours of use,...
