I looked at some cheaper Generation 1 Night vision and was not convinced until I actually stopped into Cabelas to see the difference. This ships with a head mount that takes a bit to get used to a helmet mount would offer some more stability. The built in IR illuminator works well, buut I would recommend getting the additional intensifier. It really lets you see out to about 100 yards. Very happy with the purchase.
