Awsume Unit

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WI Written on October 29, 2013
When I bought this unit I was hoping for allot, seeing I was spending allot for me. Well it did not, and still does not let me down. The clarity is crisp & clear, on a starry no moon night I can easily pick out moving objects at 1000+ yards (verified by range finder). Unit mounts great to my firearms allowing me to hunt racoons at night, and I guess it would be good for the "SHTF". Also of course it works great as a monocular, the tube has tow tiny black spots on the outside, creating zero visibility issues. Run time even on AA's is great, also an nice inexpensive option. In my opinion, you cannot go wrong with one of these. As for the unfortunate guy who got a factory defective switch on one of the 3P units, I understand your frustration, but that's all it was, and I'm sure they took care of you pronto!

NVM14-3 + Aimpoint Micro T1

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on June 7, 2011
I have assembled this kit in the beginning of the year and go hunting 1-2 times a month. First, I was concerned as I do not like the idea of placing night vision optics behind a daytime device. The NVM14 sit at the right height to see through the Aimpoint. I have to admit that this combination really works well. ...

NVM143A

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on April 13, 2011
I film movies about wild life. It was not a quick decision to buy the NVM14-3A. It is a bit pricy for me, but Id rather spend some money once and be sure about the quality, than having to spend more money later on something else. I purchased the unit with the camera adapter and goggle kit. I must say this setup will do for any activity, I hardly feel any weight when I wear it. The image is good enough to shoot commercial videos. The only thing which is missing now is magnification. I thought that 1x will be enough but now it turns out that I need higher magnification. So my next purchase is the 5x magnifier which will complete my package....

The ATN NVM14 Gen 3 is a fantastic multipurpose monocular. It has a ton of accessories which gives it unparallel versatility. I like the way it performs, the tube I got was very clean and bright. I like how I can have it on my AR with a weapon mount, and use it as a goggle when I am walking around the woods at night stalking.
Pros: Compact, easy to use, versatile...

Zoomie

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, NC Written on February 16, 2010
The device seems to be relatively well made. The clarity is good but not great. the head and weapons mount are both robust and easy to use. The depth of field is a weaker point of this unit. it requires some manual adjustment to move from near to far objects, ie. reading a map to focusing on objects at the far end of a clearing. It is capable of dealing with weapons fire from a 10.5 inch AR barrel with some flaring but never shutting the unit down. With a suppressor flare is a non issue. The biggest issue with this unit is the lack of mounts that will co-witness with most standard height optical sites. I've contacted a number of manufacturers of sites, of mounts including ATN but have found no solution.
Pros: Can be chosen in different generations to suit budget
Cons: The mount provided will not co-witness with any mounting option for either the Aimpoint or Eotech. Both units wasting over 1/3 of you field of view staring at the back of your NV capable optic...

This unit is great. It is very versatile and has great clarity. I have used it as a hand held monocular and as a weapon sight on an AR-15. I am very satisfied with my purchase.
