This is a great little monocular (32D 60Hz) that has great resolution and fast and responsive imaging. It has many color options as well as white hot and black hot viewing options. I thought that the color would be the most useful but was astonished at how much detail you could pick up using the black hot viewing option. I am surprised to see how each of the color standards could be helpful in differing situations. For example there is a setting which is black hot red cold. In this setting the hot object just pops off the screen when entering the viewing area. It is important to know what color you are targeting and this combination is very dramatic. There is one that has more of a color range from blue to green to red. This is interesting because it shows you more of a gradient in temperature. But the colors are not fixed to the temperature but actually change depending on the average temperature viewed.
Battery life is great. Portability is great. Resolution is surprising acute.
A few things to consider:
1) There is a button near the eyepiece that allows you to calibrate the screen once the lens cap is closed.
2) Another thing that took me quite a while to figure out is that you have to hold down the polarity button in order to toggle through the color modes.
3) One thing they do not advertise is that the weapons mountable version is calibrated for a .223 recoil.
4) Imaging speed is pretty important to consider when choosing between 9hz-3...
