ATN Viper is a good night vision. It is so small and lightweight. The range being irradiated of the Infrared Illuminator is a quite short. ...

I can't believe anyone finds this unit acceptable

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, GA Written on May 11, 2012
I was astounded to find positive reviews of this product after ordering and trying to use it myself. A monocular designed by a stylist, not an engineer. Headgear is so bad as to be insulting. Note side view of head gear on this site and owner's manual clearly shows headgear strap interfering with user's ears. straps do not get down low enough on back of your head, so it just falls off from the weight of the monocular. Forehead pad is too thick and soft,so unit flops around instead of securing unit. ATN, get a bra designer to do your headgear. At least they know how to keep something that weighs 10 oz in its corect location. This is the perfect gift for someone you really hate. Really

Difficult to use

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, NJ Written on April 11, 2012
For the price the NV is OK... but the mounting and headgear is very poor. Hard to adjust and doesn't stay in place when you finally get it adjusted.

Affordable Night Vision

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, TN Written on November 7, 2011
Close to the same look and operation of the night vision sets used at my Guard unit, this monocular does close to the same job at a great price. It is fun for walking and driving around in the woods without any lights during the night. Also handy for finding the light switch in the basement if your flashlight runs out of batteries. It only needs an adapter to fit on the rhino mount on my helmet.
Pros: Cheap and simple
Cons: Needs darkness to use...

Dont buy this!

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on August 3, 2010
Why does this come with such a worthless headgear. When I took the headgear out of the box it looked like someone tried to connect the loops backward. The headgear does not support the weight of the unit. I took the metal portion and threw the rest away. Why ATN Why?

Cons: Head mount is the worse. Jacked up POS...

Mediocre at Best

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, CA Written on November 2, 2009
First of all, the name should "Night Vision Goggle" not goggles, because this is a monacle, despite the fact that the profile view shown makes it look like it is a binocular. Works great in very close places, but not good for distance beyond 25 feet and it has to be TOTALLY dark. If there is any light, then you're just frustrated. Nice novelty, I wouldn't buy this one if you're looking for the real thing.
Pros: Easy to Use
Cons: Limited usability...
