This is a great value, the image is clear and bright. The scope is easy to use and shows up great detail even at great distances if there is any natural light at all. User's Guide is outdated for the model I received. However, the ATN website had the newest version. Problems with IR illuminator finally traced to very weak battery (that came with the unit). Quality is excellent, as is the "view" with the unit. Reticle on/off switch a big plus! As with all electronics, pay the extra to get a NEW unit. Very satisfied with Optics Planet.

I bought an ATN Aries MK-390 Paladin, hunting in night time to European wild boar. The NVD has sharp and clear picture, and does work in full darkness with IR illuminator. I have mounted the scope on .308 caliber rifle, and made more than hundred shoots. Aim point hasn't any changes after that. The scope has quickly mount base, and I can change my day and night aiming system very fast. I think this scope is best choice for 1st Generation NVD.
