Twists to focus, and there is little travel in it. After a few uses, it wouldn't focus any more. I Took off the rubber cover to examine it. With that off it is possible to focus by pshing the little rod, but you can't do that while viewing and you get grease on your finger. Cheap trash! Did not buy it from Optics Planet.
