Maybe good for airsoft?

by Eric, from United States, MI Written on January 19, 2015
I bought this scope. Mounted on my 3006. Bad idea. Blew the crosshairs out. Returned it as it was brand new. Mounted it on my 22 plinker. HaH! I thought, no recoil! Good enough! Most highend scopes need to track have good glass, clarity etc this definitely doesnt fit that bill but thats ok as I just wanted something for a consistent aimpoint beyond ironsights. It couldnt even do that. I used it for about 3 months off an on. About 500 22lr rounds. I had decent groupings. Went from about 2 inch at 50yard to not able to hit paper. Scope would not hold zero. Barska wanted me to ship to them and include 20 bucks for return shipping. I said no thanks. Honestly this is one of the worst "budget" scopes i have found. Im not a scope snob. The highest end i have ever bought was a leupold VX2 most of my optics are redfield, nikon, weaver and mueller. All are better budget scopes than Barska i have found. Look there. I would only accept this scope if it was a gift from my grandparents, or my wife. Otherwise, no thanks you can keep it. I could rant and go on and on about this scope. Truth is you know in your gut if you should buy this or not. If you are weighing it over, you should pass. If you think maybe youll get lucky... who knows, maybe....

Sighting very hard

by Fred Davis, from United States, CA Written on September 20, 2014
Extremely hard to sight very poor instructions. Does not tell you how to center your adjusting nobs after you have sighted the scope the first time. It is also hard to see your target on AR 15 you have to get mounting rings that about two or three inches raised to look through with ease....

Awesome scope

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, MI Written on March 19, 2012
Bought this scope about 2 years ago. Love the P4 reticle. Nope, the sight doesn't light up, just the very center cross hairs. After reading about the horrible stock rings, I purchased the Burris Extreme Tactical. 6 screws 3 per side. It's nice that you can work with just the center ones and secure your scope without having to torque the corner ones first. I have probably fired over 2000 rounds through my Arsenal AK-47 (SAM-7, Now -13) and no change in "zero". Plus, I have the removeable dovetail sidemount. Pop it on, pop it off, golden and no change in "zero". I think that most people overtighten their rings. Note: Rings are meant to hold the scope in place. DO NOT torque the rings down so there is no gap between the 2 halves...You will "CRUSH" the scope tube...hence..problems! Just snug your rings enough to hold the tube. Gaps between the halves are OK. rings hold the scope. The top and bottom half "DO NOT HAVE TO BE FLUSH!!! Looking to top off my Savage 10 fcp-k 308 with another scope. Read more bad reviews about Barska failing. Still going to order another Barska. Thinking about ordering the 60mm objective 6x24 60mm Swat Extreme. I keep reading about scope failures, but I wonder how much is due to improper ring secure. I'll keep you posted. Else, Love me some Barska Rifle Scopes!
Pros: Excellent scope if you pitch the rings.
Cons: None...

Great scope

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on January 8, 2012
Needed medium height rings because lower rings did not work because of the protrusion at the bottom of the scope and interfered with mounting.
Cons: needed new mounting rings for low profile...
