I bought this for my friend's magnum, break-barrel, springer, air gun that I've recently completed a tune-up on. This fixed 4X with AO makes for a joy to shoot. The glass is bright and clear with no noticeable distortion and true color. The AO makes the target image SHARP! The only thing I did was clean the coated lenses with Residual Oil Remover (ROR) which will improve ALL optics. While scanning branches I've spotted squirrels in the tree with this that my 20/20 naked eye missed. I'm still having too much fun and didn't return the gun yet! Right out of the box the crosshairs where focused and boldly visible. The AO adjustment focuses the target picture and the distance labels on the objective bell are pretty well calibrated to my vision. I just wish I didnt have to break my hold to look at the AO range setting, even though one should not be looking at the numbers and instead through the scope for the focus to come in while rotating the AO. This location of the distance labels on the objective bell isnt a problem unless you are changing shooting ranges often. I have clunked around this mounted scope on the air gun in my yard, driven it in the backseat of the car with the gun in no case and even used it on misty mornings with light rain. Its a reliable and handy shooter mounted on a working mans pest gun. So far after about 150 pellets, it is still holding zero and has not degraded. The eye relief is a little stringent but Im used to that. My eyeball sits about 3.25 inches behind the ocular lens with a little over a quarter inch of forgiveness in either direction to still have a good site picture. All in all for the money Im happy with it and it looks great on the gun. It has clean and smooth classic lines for the hunter instead of knobby oversized military style. The included cover is adequate. With this mounted on a Chinese gun and pellets both from wally-world, I stack the pellets at 15-20 yards. I would know if it had a floating zero and my frustrations would be ranted here. So far so good!
Pros: Clear and Bright Optics and Hairs, Still Holding Zero, AO works!
Cons: Move AO range label location so it may be seen from shooting posture. Eye relief could be more forgiving but is adequate.
