Pros:  good leather quality, fit
Cons:  generic shape, maybe sits a little to high
Would recommend:  yes

Purchased for a 6" barreled S&W 686 revolver. The holster very securely holds the revolver with little break in time. The quality of the leather is very good and the stitching is tight and even. Even the rough side of the leather is pretty smooth. The thubsnap is easy to operate. The tan color is consistent with no blotches or discolored areas. However, the boning is fairly generic and is not specific to any revolver. The holster positions the gun high on the waste with the cylinder near center on the belt. While this is nice for carry is makes it a little difficult to quickly draw the gun out of the holster. However, having a top thumbsnap holster is more for keeping the weapon secure rather than for ease of drawing. This holster works best with a 1.5" or wider belt and will slide around with a 1.25" belt.

Pros:  fit & finish, secures weapon well
Would recommend:  yes

Fits my S&W 686 (L-frame) very well; however, it is ever so sightly loose on my S&W 19 (K-frame). I think I would pay extra for the lined version if you are purchasing for a K-frame S&W (13, 19, 66, etc.) The holster says it is made in Mexico, but the fit and finish is top notch and the leather is very high quality. The color is consistent across the holster and matches older Bianchi tank leather. The back of the cylinder sits right at the hip so it is very securely held against the body and does not shift around while carrying. The tip (barrel end) of the holster is closed, however the leather is well contoured and it adds less than 1/2 inch to the length of the holster (important for longer barreled guns). Overall it is a very nice holster at a very fair price.

Pros:  Well made, good fit, good (high ride) position on the belt
Cons:  none
Would recommend:  yes

This is a fine holster, especially for the price I paid. It is a high ride holster, maybe even a little too high for a 6 inch barrel. The only drawback of the height is that it makes for a slow, even awkward, draw with my gun. The advantage is stability. I can run with my gun without it slapping my hip. The forward cant of the holster is good, even necessary, and there's a couple of options for sliding different widths of belts through it. The thumbsnap is pretty light. It's easy to see that the leather wasn't molded specifically for my GP100, especially in the cylinder area. But this does not affect function and it does accept the full lug barrel which is the important thing. There is a break in period. When I first tried to press the gun in I couldn't even do it. It took a half hour of persuasion to get it all the way in. But after three days of being stored in the holster as well as yanking it in and out a lot, I had one great fit. Secure and smooth.

Pros:  Quality, Conctruction, Gun fit
Cons:  Made in Mexico, Cannt carry gun straight up
Would recommend:  yes

I ordered the holster for my GP100 4". The quality and construction are very good and the gun fits fine. I was disappointed to see it was made in Mexico and that the gun must be carried canted forward, cannot be carried straight. The makers of holsters should show a picture of the back of the holster so the approximate hang position and cant angle can be seen. I have modified mine to suit me. I will not purchase Bianchi in the future since it is made in Mexico, I will use holster makers that make their product in America.

I bought this holster for my Taurus 669. The gun fit in the holster like a hand in glove. The leather is beautiful with great stitching. I received this 3 days after I ordered it. I'll use Optics Planet again.

As with most Bianchi products, the quality is excellent. Thick durable leather with even stitching and a quality finish. The safety strap may need a break in period but then does a good job of retaining the weapon without being too bulky. All around, a great holster to carry your gun in.
