Finally....

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on January 12, 2014
I had hoped to find a hard plastic retention holster for my wifes Beretta Cougar 8000.It turns out that its one of the models that has no retention holster designed for it. The Bianchi holster is the one originally used by law enforcement people who were assigned that pistol. It fits well, unsnaps easily when you want it to, but stays snapped when you don't want it to pop open.Well made, ita a good value for the money.
Pros: Fits well, holds snugly....

Excellent for the price

This a great, inexpensive holster that makes carrying a pleasure (even a fullsize 1911). I found myself forgetting I even had it on. It's not leather but works well and makes drawing/reholstering easy. Maintains its shape. Adjustastrap is good feature but isn't conducive to constant refitting for other gun models so I only use it for 1 model and therefore it's not an issue. Hard to beat for the price!
Pros: Works well
Cons: Not leather though...

Bianchi Holster

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on February 15, 2013
Good stiff synthetic "fabric" holster that is well built and holds it shape. I don't everyday carry anymore so I can't say how it holds up to everyday use. This is a high ride style holster more suited for a lot of sitting in vehicle and security.
Not crazy about thumbstrap design. It is a long piece of polymer on the body side of the gun that adjusts for length with hook and loop (Velcro type)material. To get a tight strap fit you literally use the furnished wooden tongue depressor to "break apart" the hook and loop and position the strap. Thbis can be a little tedious at times and requires refitting after some use when the strap over the gun form-fits. Molded polymer belt loop is snug on belt and holds it in place well, partly due to this is where the hook & loop material and thumbstrap are.
These are some of the better synthetic fabric holsters I compared.
Pros: Good Quality, Good fit,
Cons: A little difficult to adjust hold down/thumbstrap...

Not so good.

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on January 27, 2012
Not recommended for revolvers. Place for the drum is only molded on outer side, on the back side of holster its flat, so its hard to put your revolver in. thumb break only can be locked if gun is cocked, and trigger is completely open, very unsafe. hard to put a belt through.
Would not recommend for revolvers.
Pros: Very Durable
Cons: open triger...

Funtionality and Fit

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, CA Written on June 6, 2011
The secure strap had to be removed to get it onto the rigger's belt I ran with it, other than that, it functioned nicely. Draw felt smooth when running speed drills and the firearm fit perfectly and felt secure even without the secure strap engaged.
Pros: Easy set up, firearm fit as advertised, smooth draw
Cons: you have to pull the secure strap off and put back on after putting the holster on your belt...
