Author: Shooting Doc (verified customer) from Oklahoma City, OK on May 4, 2011
Pros:  easy to use
Cons:  too bulky for concealed carry
Would recommend:  yes

Shooting Doc wrote:

This is a great open-carry/range-carry holster. It positions the pistol far enough away from the body that getting a full firing grip on the pistol is easy. I had to get used to the SERPA retention device, but after a few minutes of practice, I have had no further issues with it. I don't know why they advertise these as being concealed carry holsters. They are bulky and hold the gun out from the body such that they print easily.

Cons:  Don't make it for more pistol/revolver applications
Would recommend:  yes

Got this for a friend of mine, my duty rig is Serpa for pistol and taser. I really rely on mine for retention and ease of presentation. The moment he strapped it on he was sold with Blackhawk.

Pros:  Snug fit, retention sytem is effective and easy to use
Cons:  None
Would recommend:  yes

leagle82 wrote:

The snug fit ensures that my Glock 38 remains stable in the holster. The belt and paddle options make this a versatile platform. The retention system is very effective and the release mechanism is easy to use while still allowing the pistol to be withdrawn quickly. Following the instructions to keep the index finger straight while drawing the pistol will make the retention system nearly imperceptible, yield a smooth draw, and will keep the index finger away from the trigger. The belt attachment keeps the pistol fairly close to the body, and allows the pistol to be carried fairly high, but obviously there are better choices for concealment.

Pros:  very smooth and fast draw, very secure, well built
Cons:  available designed for the XD, not XDm
Would recommend:  yes

Mtnshikaku wrote:

This is a great holster for the XDm. Although the model I purchased is designed for the XD, (Blackhawk doesn't make one for the XDm yet) it does fit with just a very small amount of play (which can be remedied with a piece of sticky-back fuzzy velcro on the flat area that contacts the bottom of the trigger guard), and is very secure and safe. The release is very natural and works well, and with practice, becomes second nature. Comfortable to wear and a great value.

S&W M&P9 Holster with the double mag holder is a combination that's as unbeatable as the price. No need to look any further.
