Poor quality control/design

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on June 19, 2013
It's good that it is a Nalgene 32oz., BPA-free,wide-mouth bottle. I figured they had engineered the cap to work properly, especially with it being a Nalgene product, and having the Blackhawk branding. I figured completely wrong!!! Fill it up, cap it properly (near imposssible to do it wrong), turn it over and watch your water pour out of the cap. Good way to lose your precious water, and/or soak your gear!!! Not a biggie, but the bottle also had permanent white fingerprints in various places from whoever did the silk screening of the Blackhawk logo. Poor quality control IMHO!
Pros: Nalgene BPA-Free bottle
Cons: LEAKS BADLY...

Good idea, poor performance

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, OR Written on January 4, 2008
At first glance, the design of the BlackHawk HydraStorm Nalgene water bottle seems ingenious and useful, but upon real-world application and use, it fails miserably. The flip top fails to hold a seal, so if the bottle is inverted it leaks profusely. Also, the flip top easily pops open with the slightest drop, thus spilling your precious water all over the ground. That's a bad day when you find yourself in a situation where you really need that water. I do not recommend this bottle unless they redesign it with a second method of securing the flip top.
Pros: Unique and ingenious design
Cons: Cannot stand up to the rigors of practical use...
