I have had this forend on my 870 for about 3 years now. Works great but the down fall is when I up graded to a side saddle the forend (which overlaps the receiver) would hit my side saddle. causing the gun not to fully cycle. So just becareful if you have a 6 or 8 round side saddle. it will not work with that part.

Initially, the forend did not fit my 870. I had to use a dremel tool to modify the front end of the forend so that the forend end tube nut could be screwed on. I also had to modify so that the magazine cap did not interfere with the loading of the shotgun. Once done te product works fine. may not be for everyone, if you do not want to "tinker" with the new forend.
Works well looks OK

Pros: Comfortable to use, nice variation in grip surfaces
Cons: looks could be better-needs better instructions
Would recommend: yes

The forend has different widths and is extended far back enough that utilizing in while holding the weapon tight in is possible. Its also beneficial for those with limited reach to use the action properly. It could look better but it functions extremely well. Itwont wrok with any side saddle shell holders.
The older versions would slip on an 870 easily like a stock part or a speedfeed. The newer initially wouldnt fit, I thought they sent me the wrong part at first. It was frustrating trying to slip it on like the older one or a speed feed. After a few e mails to Blackhawk I was advised that you need to use a mallet and tap it onto the action bars and tube assembly. Its very secure this way and functions well. I just wish the instructions stated that.
