Not reliable

by Kim Thingsaker, from Norway, Kristiansand Written on December 12, 2014
This light works nice if you want a flashlight, but dont plan on it working if you are going to use it on your gun while shooting. This is my second Xiphos and as my first one it stops working after a couple of rounds. Now it wil even shut off after the sligthest touch. Releasing the slide turns it off or on. There is something seriously wrong with the battery connections.
Do not buy this light. Youre better off with the TLR og Surefire....

It's ok and will get the job done

by Fin, from United States, NC Written on September 26, 2014
What I like: it is very light on the weapon, adequate amount of light down range, compact size.

Dislikes: proprietary holster, price.

I am currently checking to see if I can get a holster made. I purchased the Blackhawk Glock holster for it and my G22 worked fine, I have now switched to the G35 and I had to remove the barrel end of the holster with a razor knife so that the barrel would pass through. It works....

just ok

This light is very expensive from a good company so my expectations were high but my review is mixed. The light is design to where it mounts off center on the gun, which forces you to purchase the black hawk level 3 holster. This is a great marketing for the black hawk company because it forces you to buy another product from them. However the combination of the light and large bulky holster makes it very uncomfortable to wear. Father more despite after practicing for weeks it is very difficult to draw fast from this holster. Because there is other tactual mount lights that cost much less with the same quality I would only recommend this light for swat operations or home defense.
Pros: easy to set up

I have had the light for about 2 years. I consistently shoot. The battery compartment cover has loosened and has come off twice recently, once during qualifications.
Pros: very bright

Great Tac light with Blackhawk Compatible Holsters

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on December 25, 2012
This is a good tactical light if you are using Blackhawk Serpa Light bearing holsters. Blackhawk holsters offer excellent weapon retention depending on the security level you select. Light must be ordered for the primary shooting hand and is not switchable. This is primarily for the Blackhawk holster fitting. Very good Blackhawk customer service for backup parts/screws ect.
Pros: Retention
Cons: Not ambidextrous ...

UNSAFE

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on December 18, 2012
I am a federal agent who serves warrants on a dailey basis. I liked this light system at first, but over time it has become unreliable which is unsafe. The light seems to work when it wants to (about 30% of the time). Faulty battery connection design keeps this light from being useful. I can turn the light on and off and the next time I turn it on I have to tap it to get it to work. Ususally if it stops working, I have to disassemble the light and pull the spring so it can make a solid connection with the battery, then reassemble. I do not recommend this light.
Pros: Balances your weapon
Cons: Unsafe...

Could be Better

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, IL Written on August 16, 2012
I am a left handed shooter and I thought by buying the left handed variant it would be more catered to me. Sadly I was wrong. The longer paddle is on the left side which would make me have to use my trigger finger to easily operate the light. Its good thing I have long fingers so I can still operate it. I also do not like that the light does not have a monetary on/off, Instead its solid on or off. Blackhawk puts out some good products they could have done a better job on this light....

Good Light but under powered.

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, CA Written on July 31, 2012
Great Light. It's tough, durable and dependable. However at only 90 lumens it is not as bright as I would have liked. I would prefer a light closer to double that brightness (160-180 lumens).
Pros: Tough and dependable. Ergonomic on/off switches,
Cons: Not bright enough for my preference....
