Blackhawk STRIKE sniper rest

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, TX Written on September 28, 2008
I have been very pleased with the Blackhawk STRIKE rest. I have it mounted to the back of a TAD gear EDC fastpack on the transporter tail and shoot accross (perpendicular) to my pack. The "speedclips" are very secure and haven't budged in spite of relatively heavy use...but they weren't all that "speedy" if compared with M-alice clips. The pads are thick closed-cell foam, do NOT have a "gripping" material in the middle, and have a strong block shape. Some people might prefer the rounded profile rests (like Eberlestock's) but as the rifles I shoot either have railing systems (SR-25) or McMillan stocks and so with the broad profile of those rifles, the extra room in the middle fits perfectly. If someone was going to shoot a normal profile stock from a bolt-action hunting rifle, they would likely be happier with the rounded profile. Since this purchase was for "tactical" rifles, it has been perfect for that use.
Pros: Very stable, strong attachment to pack, full nylon exterior
Cons: "Blocky" construction, stability dependent on pack contents...
Would recommend: Yes
