Nice Rig

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on April 20, 2014
The quality of the product is second to none- I'm about 6' and 175 lbs solid built. I find the fitting of the chest is great. However, the mid section of this rig is bit loose, even with the tightest setting. Make sure you will have the right size of plates to go with it. As a result, if you are fit and have a slim waistband, go one size smaller!
Pros: Quality, built, stitches, material, 3D mesh, fast-cut-away feature
Cons: A bit loose in mid session if you don't have the right size ...

Great Carrier But...

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on February 3, 2014
Bought this vest with a shipment of armor plates from AR500 a front curved plate and a flat back plate. Love the vest but be warned if you are buying 10inch by 12inch plates they fit extremely tight! not so much in the front but in the back I spent over an hour trying to slam the back plate into its carrier sleeve. In the vests defense I did have the base coat build up offered by AR500 but I still felt that it should not be tight enough to have to put your foot on the plate and pull on the top of the vest with all your strength to move the plate a centimeter at a time. Regardless the back plate is not coming out anytime soon. But I am still happy with my purchase and feel this product is of much higher quality than other vests on the market very breathable and light. DO NOT BUY A CURVED BACK PLATE IN SIZE 10inch BY 12inch OR ANY PLATE BIGGER than 10inch by 12inch THEY WILL NOT FIT!
Pros: Quality, Durability, Breathable, Cutaway design
Cons: Price, Armor pockets...

Best vest out there

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on January 24, 2014
Blackhawk quality is superior. I'm not sure if I have the made in USA version or not. Whichever one I have, I love it anyway. It is a bit stiff at first but once you break it in and wear it it's the best , most dependable, during, and versatile vest. I always get compliments on it from my LEO co-workers. I also added about 5 molle-compatible pouches to the front. Velcro on front and back is great too. This best is also easy to put on and take off.
Pros: Blackhawk Quality. Durable. Looks great too
Cons: None. ...

blackhawk strike cutaway carrier 3D Mesh

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on April 22, 2013
I have not been able to try on yet. Have armor in vest but dont understand how to put on and stay on. I think that I am missing a belt or something.? The one thing that bugs me there is no instructions or pictures that show how to put on. Because of this I am still not able to try on or nothing. I would like it if some directions on how to load armor, how to ware, something would come my way that would allow me to complete this project and have a working safe vest, to use if I ever need to. Right now I have alot of money sitting here that is trash if I cannot use. Please help Thanks Steve
Pros: Good value for money
Cons: no instructions...

There were cheaper vests on the market, but these are made in the USA and after reading the reviews seemed to be built well. I jumped and I am glad I did. Great vest.

Blackhawk Strike cut a way vest

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on January 14, 2013
This is an excellent product. I will be buying more for wife and son.
Pros: Well made and heavy duty. Cut a way feature is a must have for quick removal.
Cons: A longer cut would fit me better and add loadout storage room....

Loaded with panels and plates

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, MO Written on November 1, 2012
If you have balistic panels and rifle plates it fits one size smaller than the typical shirt you would wear. I'm 6' 190lbs and a I wear a medium in the middle of the adjustable eyelets. elastic could be stronger. when fully loaded up the elastic is not able to keep it dangling when bending over.
Pros: panels and plates fit well and its easy to put back together
Cons: elastic should be stronger to support full load outs....

Very good for load bearing

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on August 11, 2012
Very good if you plan to actually use it as a plate carrier. Make sure that your plates will fit first though. Not a fan of how the front plate is secured. There isn't a separate pocket like there is in the rear. But it does do its job. If you're a well built person like me with a wide shoulder area and thin waist then consider getting a size smaller (unless you need larger plates) because I still have a little wiggle room in the stomach area. But it doesn't affect me too much unless I have to completely bend over then it wants to slide over my head. It hold the weight very good and distributes it even better. I have mine about 80 lbs. with everything and I feel as comfortable as I could be. If you plan to use Type 3 armor then it will only take the Blackhawk armor. I have seen a few guys insert other types though but it leaves gaps. Overall I do recommend it.
Pros: Quality, price
Cons: Size...
