I recently ordered the Matte Black version of this knife. While the thickness and weight of the blade is pretty good, the finish and edge was not even close to what I expected. I understand I order the matte black, but I thought the finish wouldn't have bunch of gaps, dot and dings in it. The blade has an edge, but that edge wouldn't be classified as sharp. Running the edge the full 6+" length of the blade over the seam of an envelope only put a 1mm cut in the envelope. That's not sharp. By contrast, my Cold Steel Code 4 doing the same test only over 1" of the blade length cut over 3/8". And that knife is used almost daily - has been for over 6 months.
As a result, I probably wouldn't buy this knife again, nor other Boker knives....
