Fuzzy Dots

by Fee D Back, from United States, CT Written on February 4, 2015
Bought the Browning Buckmark Reflex Sight as a gift. The mechanical construction and operation appear to be fine. It mounted securely to a Tactical Solutions rail on a BuckMark pistol. The problem is with the optics. Whether mounted or unmounted all the reticles are distorted. The single dot looks like a mouse dropping and the circle-dot reticle has several off center rings around the same distorted dot. The other 2 reticles were just fuzzy blobs. The sight was put right back into the package so I can’t comment on its alignment or stability.

I asked for a replacement only because this sight was specifically requested as a gift. A replacement takes several weeks. If the 2nd one is bad I’ll pursue a refund and grumble even louder about a reputable brand, Browning, fading away. The guys at the range are already pursuing another manufacturer.

Reading other reviews it seems some people have gotten a good one. So if you are really set on getting a BuckMark red dot sight my recommendation is that this product is best examined and bought in person to increase your chance of success. And be certain you are comfortable with the return policy and timing....
Pros:
  • adequate for hitting the side of a barn. What can I say; it doesn’t work as a target sight
Cons:
  • Poor optical quality
Best Used for:
  • looking good at the range and a paper weight

Great sight

The Browning Buckmark Reflex Sight is a very clear sight. It is easy to turn on and off. Changing the various reticles is simple. For an inexpensive sight it fills the ticket. For someone that has trouble sighting in on a moving target this sight will help immensely....

Browning buckmark reflex sight

by adelsm, from United States, VA Written on January 17, 2015
Good product no problem so far easy to adjust and use. I wish the reticles where a little smaller
in diameter. Brightness is good. The reason I bought it because it carries browning name on it.
Price is excellent for what it is. Easy to install in less then 5 mins....

Not bad for the $, but not up to Browning standards

by Martin, from United States, UT Written on December 17, 2014
I normally avoid budget optics because experience has taught me you get what you pay for when it comes to optics. However, I took a chance on this sight because of the Browning name and their reputation for quality. Sadly, that is not the case with this sight, and it is no better than a BSA (its probably manufactured in the same factory in China). The reticle is not bright enough on a bright, sunny day, and the POI shifts significantly if you switch to a different reticle pattern, and does not return to zero when you switch it back. The biggest problem, however, is the mount. The screws are pathetic, and the rear one stripped the first time I tried to mount it. I am only using this on a .22 and the mount seems fine for that, but I would not expect this to withstand the recoil from a more substantial caliber. IMO, you would be MUCH better off just spending the extra money to get a Burris Fast Fire....

Great product for a great price

by Tony, from United States, TX Written on November 27, 2014
After installing the Buckmark Reflex on my Mini-14, I was surprised how easy to sight in and use, but the main factor was the quickness in which targets could be acquired. Head and shoulders above a scope, even at distances over 100 yards. I'm definitely planning to buy another Reflex for one of my other rifles....

update from last review

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, GA Written on February 24, 2014
So I purchased this sight on feb 2, 2014. When I got the sight I placed it on my weapon and went to the range. On the first range trip I fired 72 rounds. Was able to sight it in with about 11 rounds. Expected new out the box. So I was very happy with it and was excited, I planned on ordering a second one. so I went to the range this past Saturday to have a range date with the wife. Well, after firing a few different weapons we turned to the AR15. She fired 2 mags and I had fired 1. The 4th mag I was going to use on the 70 yard target to see how well the sight did at greater range. Fired the first shot and the reticle disappeared. So confused i started to mess with it and it came back on. Fired the second shot, it turned off again. Finally it quit working properly all together. The brightness settings are 1-7 with no selections in between the numbers. Well 3-6 stopped working. If I wanted to put it on level 5 setting, I had to put it in between 5 and 6. Which isnt a selection to begin with. Only used it twice and only had it for 3 weeks. 162 rounds killed this sight. No rapid fire, no double taps, and carried in a reinforce carring case with memory foam. Each shot fired had atleast 1 second in between each shot (range rules). So call and Had one guy at optics planet told me they wouldnt take it back because I didnt keep the manufacturer packaging, which you have to destroy to get the sight out lol. I contacted a supervisor and that guy was completely wrong. Once I got some...
