Browning "Bad" knife

by Rudy1249, from United States, NY Written on September 2, 2014
Nice feel in the hand. handle seems to be nonslip. stiff to open but as you work it it gets easier but this knife doesn't have a lock feature. the description says it has a lock but its junk as far as i am concerned....

good blade

by spec, from United States, GA Written on August 28, 2014
i like most aspects of this knife but there is one thing that bothers me. being left handed i wanted to move or remove the clip but on both knives i bought i found that the screws holding the clip were completely stripped in what used to be their hex heads. it was as if they used an impact wrench to put in those screws while all the other screws are pristine....

Mixed Feelings

by beb0541, from United States, FL Written on August 24, 2014
Mixed Feeling upon first interaction. Stiff opening and lock up is not audible or tactile which makes you have to double check. Knife is definitely designed for those with small hands. Blade is sharp and its light weight. I would say its great to have in a gear bag but this would not be a piece of equipment I trust my life with. The saying generally holds true "you get what you pay for"....

Fantastic Knife, Unbeatable Price

by Alessandro M., from United States, IL Written on July 18, 2014
I'm not a guy who spends much on folding knives typically. Anytime I need one for the house, the garage, or the car I would just grab something for less than $10, use it for a bit until it was dull and then toss it. When I saw the new OPMOD Folding Knives though, I thought I'd give them a shot.

Wow. What a world I've been missing. The first thing you'll find when you get this knife is that it comes in a very sleek OPMOD/Browning black box. I keep mine right in that box. When you pull it out, it is SHARP. Too often inexpensive folding knives are fairly dull from the minute you get them, but not this knife. The handle is lightweight, it's well balanced, and the finger groves make it extremely comfortable to use. After I got it, I took it outside for some landscaping work I had to do.

First off was bundling some branches, as you'd expect cutting through twine, string and rope was no big deal. After that I had to clear out some saplings behind the shed that had taken root. Since it had been a few months, these guys were more than just a tug, I had to get in there and break up the root structure. Once they were dug up, I found some roots had gone under the shed, making it impossible for me to yank it and dig it up. Normally I'd grab my hedge shears for a job like that, but the knife was in my pocket so why not give it a shot? I cut right through the roots without even breaking a sweat. I expect that sort of performance from a 3 inch hunting knife, but not from an inexpensive...

Good starter EDC blade

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on June 10, 2014
For $20 you cant beat this knife. Sure it isn't some fancy blade steel but it is pretty sharp, holds a decent edge and has a deep carry pocket clip. Very good choice for someone wanting a high value every day carry knife.
Pros: g10 scales, pocket clip...

Great value, good product

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on June 5, 2014
This has been my EDC knife for a few months. I got it as a sample and just stashed it away. I had an OPMOD meeting and decided to use it. It works well, is the size that I like for EDC, and doesn't eat my pants. I carry front left. Now I leave my more expensive knives at home and carry this knife. It's such a low cost product I don't have to NOT use it when the time comes. I use this one for everything and don't have to worry about scratches or loss. Scraping stickers, levering out box staples, cutting wire, or food. It's a good performing knife that looks good and cuts like it's supposed to, and sharpens easily. You will like it. Get some for gifts!
Pros: Beat it up and don't worry about it...

I wasn't expecting much out of a $20 knife but after carrying this blade as my EDC for a few weeks it has performed very well. It comes with a deep carry pocket clip so the whole world doesn't know you have a knife on you.
Pros: decent blade steel, pocket clip
Cons: liner lock...
