The base screws were too long. I had to file down 6 of the 8 screws to make them fit. Now that they are mounted though, seems pretty secure. These were cheaper than the other base and rings setup I was looking at, but I wish I would have went with the adjustable rings, elevation on these was off by quite a bit.
