Brunton Monopod mode; F-4089

by Maurice, from United States, CA Written on March 13, 2015
I'm 73 yrs old. I have used this very model every day, indoors-and-out, for years as a walking stick/aid. I bought it to replace my cane. The locking mechanism has never once slipped or collapsed -- and, I lean heavily on it. It is bullet-proof.

This model is now discontinued; but, if you find a used one in good shape -- go for it....

Brunton F-4089

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on February 25, 2010
I purchased this item several weeks ago and have had time to check it out. I got so I would have a little protection from wild dogs or anything else while out hiking. It also holds my MINOX MS, this is an 8 power monocular w/ a threaded hole in the bottom. The Brunton F4089 has a threaded post under the cap. Just add a small rubber washer to keep things snug. These two items were made for each other. So unless you are a huge man this is a very handy walking stick - monopod. 5 stars to OPTICS PLANET, best price {and I shopped }, nice people, sturdy shipping container and fast. VERY HAPPY.
Pros: light, sturdy, compact
Cons: none I found...
