I did find out at a festival that people do not like them shined in their faces, so then I just put it around my nexk so that it shined in whatever direction I was walking. I also liked the red light for when I was sneaking into the neighbors garage to heist some electricity, didn't get busted!! I felt like I was on Mission Impoosible with my high tech red headlamp. Once I got out of there the 3 LED's were back on! I have now bought this for three other fellow campers, one of them was security and he loves his too! Highly reccomend!!
