Surprisingly good scope especially for the money

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, AZ Written on July 8, 2014
Just got it and was pleasantly surprised at the optical quality, fit, and finish, and it came with a very nice screw-in lens hood. The crosshairs are the typical duplex with a quite fine inner section. The "bullet drop compensation dial" is adjustable for initial zero. Of course the compensation for the 3 bullet weights is an approximation because of the variability of different brands and muzzle velocities. The Butler Creek #19 (eye) and #29 (obj) covers will fit.
Pending durability review I think BSA has made a very good little scope.
Pros: Well made and finished

Broke in less than 50 rounds of .22

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on December 23, 2013
Mounted this to a 10/22. In less than 50 rounds the reticle dislodged itself from its mounting. Called BSA and they will not pay for shipping it to them. Scope is less than 10 days old at the time of failure. Read more reviews before buying, there are more instances of this same problem. BSA rep was non sympathetic and just wanted to do business as usual.
Pros: Price
Cons: Quality...

Pretty sweet, but.......

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on June 30, 2013
Clarity is about what you would expect for the price. Not real clear at 9X with cross-hairs that are to coarse for a 22 rim-fire. The parallax adjustment is way off for the dial scale markings. The least parallax shift is not necessarily at the best focus.

I liked the side focus over the objective type. The markings are clear and easy to read. I also liked that there were no turret covers to get lost. Fit and finish were above average for this price scope. All things considered, this is a good value for a dedicated 22 rim-fire scope.

The 3 ballistic scales on the elevation dial are so close to the same that there is little distinction between various bullet weights.
Pros: Many features, nice finish
Cons: reticle cross hairs to heavy, bullet drop dial useless...

Sweet 22

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, CA Written on April 23, 2013
Sweet 22 was a great addition to my Ruger 10/22. Easy to BZO to the rifle. Only have used the 36 grain turret. Accurate at 100 and 200 yards....

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, MN Written on August 15, 2012
crosshairs are rotating about a few degrees everytime i shoot. worked good for the first box of 500 bullets on my ruger 10/22 but not anymore and i,ve tried to go on the bsa website because they have a "lifetime warranty" but unfortunately the website doesn't exist or something because i have tried to access it from 3 different computers and still no dice.
Pros: worked great for about 500 rounds if thats good
Cons: made in china...

BSA is made in China JUNK!

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, NC Written on April 6, 2012
I bought this for a 10/22 thinking the bullet weight specific elevation turrets were a good idea. And they are, however the optics have gone completley foggy. Things like the threads are crap, it was beat up when it came out of the box, the markings are poorly done, all demonstrate the poor quality. Its unusable in its current state. I am sending it in for a warranty repair but I do not have high hopes. Good luck getting BSA on the phone. No one answers, mailboxes are full. Bottom line, they don't give a crap and you get what you pay for. Spend a bit more, like $40 bucks, and get a Nikon or something else that will last. We will see what happens with the "repair".
Pros: Great concept and features
Cons: Poor quality...
