Great Scope....But.

by lapriester, from United States, CA Written on September 15, 2014
I bought the scope with the illuminated reticle option. The problem is that the reticle, when lit, is invisible except in very late dusk or dark even at the highest setting. Useless, in other words, since I don't shoot in the dark. Perhaps useful for a sniper in very low light conditions. So, if you buy this scope, opt for the unlighted reticle since it will weigh less and you won't have that useless extra clunky switch sticking up above the eye piece. The reticle is very nice and the scope functions well. It's a good thing that, without the reticle lit, that the etched reticle is visible like a standard reticle. If it depended on the light all you'd have is a telescope. All turrets function as they should if you read the instructions on how to use them correctly. If you don't read the instructions you'll be mystified as to why you can't make any adjustments. They are a bit complicated compared to most scopes for no good reason except to be different and more complicated I'm certain. Unique isn't always better IMHO....
Pros:
  • Very nice reticle without the light
  • 1/8 MOA adjustments if you have a very accurate rifle
  • Clear, bright optics
  • Positive clicks and locking adjustments
Cons:
  • Lighted reticle in all colors is too dim.
  • Can't see lighted reticle in bright light
  • Heavy scope
  • Adjustment locks are too complicated
Best Used for:
  • Varmint Hunting
  • Predator hunting
  • Target shooting out to 500 yards

Great Scope

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, FL Written on March 15, 2014
Have been shooting this scope on my 22 for smallbore silhouette competition. Over 4000 rounds and it is still going strong. The contender reticle has been great. I have multiple aiming points that enable me to shoot at the different distances without having to adjust the turrets. The glow in the dark turret markings may of had a selling point in the board room, but in reality it is worthless. That is the only gripe that I have and it does not affect shooting, so who cares.
Pros: Contender reticle, clear optics
Cons: glow in the dark markings...

Not the best value.

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, NC Written on May 31, 2012
When adjusting the eyepiece focus, the reticle wil actually move changing the point of impact- not acceptable.
Pros: Features and relatively sharp optics
Cons: Zero/ point of impact does not remain constant...

review after year

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on May 14, 2012
Have had this scope on AR for about a year. Have put about 1000 rounds through the rifle. Scope holds zero. Clear glass. The knobs for adjusting were very difficult at first. They have loosened up now. You still have to be carefull or they will mess up your zero. But, for the price still a good scope....

Usability

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on December 12, 2011
Overall a scope that give more that you expected for the price you pay.

Sure, it wouldn't compare to brand names like Zeiss and Leupold, but then again, its the question of 'Do you want to see the deer or the fleas on the deer.
Pros: Excellent value for money
Cons: Clarity can't compare to brands like Leupold...

COMD624X40RGBGE

overall quality is ok, I use it on an airgun. The reticle with bsa triangle system is very useful, turrets and mag indexes are fluorescent with low light conditions, I think this is useful for hunting purpose.
With 40mm obj, at 24x the image darken, but the overal quality glass is ok.
The bad is the locking system for turrets, these have 2 stage pull out (like watches)to adjust and reset to zero; the problem is that they are very hard to pull and often I jump to 2nd stage (resetting to zero) and I wanted only the first.
Pros: clear glass, useful reticle,
Cons: metal covers, turrets locking system...
