Have owned the 4-24 and 3-18 Gold Star scopes for about 15 months now. The 4-24 is on a .308 and the 3-18 is on a 6mm Remington. Both have performed well for me and proved reliable for my target shooting. Mind you, the optics in my 4-20 Weaver Super Slam are better, but the BSA optics are pretty good for the price, being clear at all powers. Only complaints I have are the 4-24 is 50mm, prefer a 44mm and had to dremel away some metal on my one piece scope base to clear the plug on bottom of scope tube. I've had some gents who buy only much higher priced scopes like Zeiss and Leupold be impressed with the scope after viewing thru it and playing with the adjustments.

Seems like the crosshairs are mounted to the rear ocular. Shot a box of shells through the gun trying to sight it in, until I let my gunsmith shoot it and try to sight it in. After he fired two shots, he tried to adjust the ocular and noticed that if you touched or moved the ocular, the crosshairs moved at 100 yards. He adjusted it and fired a shot to show me and the round struck the target about six inches from the area of the others. Also, this was match ammo! Maybe, I got the only one with a problem, but I won't be trying out another Gold Star. I have owned and do own other BSA scopes and like them all, but this one. Maybe others will have better luck!
