Nice scope

by rlo1, from United States, AZ Written on September 7, 2014
Looks good on my AR and works very well. Nice system. Focus takes a little time, I zero'd with a laser and it was very close. The red dot takes some getting used to during acquisition. The main Battery button takes a little patience to get used too....

burris tac30 great scope

by jc, from United States, NC Written on August 30, 2014
Great scope for the price very clear glass. If you want something for precise shooting not for you. But it's great for real world tactical shooting and fast target acquisition. With 55 grain privi and federal xm193 ammo I consistently shoot 2 moa groups of 5 shots at 100 yards, 69 grains brought it down to 1.5 moa. People whine about the illumination switch but it's not difficult to use and I never shoot with it illuminated anyway....

Great combo for a reasonable price

by Dave, from United States, OR Written on July 31, 2014
I purchased this scope and red dot combo for my AK. It was easy to set-up and sight in. Holds zero and easy to adjust. Optics are clear and perfect for shots out to 100 yards. The only negatives are the size of the on/off for the red dot and the on/off on the scope is very hard to push to adjust brightness and turn off. I would be fine without the lighted reticle as the crosshairs are easy to see in most of the conditions I will be using it in....
Pros:
  • Clear optics
  • compact
  • reasonable price
  • Holds zero
Cons:
  • on/off button
Best Used for:
  • close to mid range shooting

Burris 1-4x24 Fullfield TAC30 Illuminated Ballistic CQ 5.56

by ncd, from United States, TX Written on July 30, 2014
The optic is very clear and the reticle great. My biggest issue was the illumination button it would stick and I would need to unscrew the button cap to address it. It was very annoying that I paid nearly $300 for this package, and the button design is sticky to where it cycles the illumination intensities on its own. If you can deal with it, more power to you....

Great scope for 3-gunning

by Tom, from United States, NY Written on July 30, 2014
I purchased the Burris 1-4 x 24 TAC30 scope to mount on an AR-15 with a 16" barrel that I use for 3 gun matches. The scope has clear optics, retains the zero perfectly when changing magnification, and has good eye relief range. I think this is the best 1-4x scope available for this price range. The illumination works well but the scope reticle is also great with no illumination....
Pros:
  • Clear optics
  • good value
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • 3-gun shooting

very good value

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, LA Written on May 30, 2014
i recommend buying the combo and then removing the fast fire red dot from the top of the scope and using it in a more effective way like as an angle mounted back up sight or on another weapon. when the FF is mounted on top of the scope, the mounting height presents an issue with sighting in at practical range.
Pros: scope and red dot for great price
Cons: red dot not practical when mounted on top of scope...

Burris 1x4 with Mount and Fast Fire

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, TN Written on April 26, 2014
Very well made. Although it didn't meet my expectations to 5, I do not shoot three gun. I found the red dot only is better for me, so this is in no way a ding on this very well made scope, just a subjective bias based on what I need on top of my AR.
Pros: Versatile, well made, clear optics
Cons: A bit heavy compared to red dot only, but this is a scope with a red dot on top so that is to be expected of course...

Too Easy

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, MO Written on January 24, 2014
Reticle makes shooting out to 300 yards almost automatic. Wind begins to play a factor beyond that but the reticle is spot on. I use it for coyotes and 3 gun style shooting and its outstanding. My single grip is that thought the function of the reticle is great the center dot is just too big for true precision target shooting at ranges beyond 50-100 yds. You can smoke steel all day but be wary if you're looking for x rings on paper.
Pros: Reticle, Clarity, Eye Relief, Value
Cons: Thickness of reticle...

Burris TAC30

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, OR Written on November 27, 2013
I am very happy with this scope combo. I was looking for something that could be used both as a red dot style optic and a low magnification scope. This is it. It is heavier than a red dot, but it is more useable. The 1X is not a true 1X, but it can be used with both eyes open. The reticle illumination button can be a bit of a pain, but I don't really use the illumination much. When the illumination is off you still have a black reticle that is still very useable.
Pros: Very versitile
Cons: heavy...
