very good value

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, LA Written on May 30, 2014
i recommend buying the combo and then removing the fast fire red dot from the top of the scope and using it in a more effective way like as an angle mounted back up sight or on another weapon. when the FF is mounted on top of the scope, the mounting height presents an issue with sighting in at practical range.
Pros: scope and red dot for great price
Cons: red dot not practical when mounted on top of scope...

Burris 1x4 with Mount and Fast Fire

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, TN Written on April 26, 2014
Very well made. Although it didn't meet my expectations to 5, I do not shoot three gun. I found the red dot only is better for me, so this is in no way a ding on this very well made scope, just a subjective bias based on what I need on top of my AR.
Pros: Versatile, well made, clear optics
Cons: A bit heavy compared to red dot only, but this is a scope with a red dot on top so that is to be expected of course...

Too Easy

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, MO Written on January 24, 2014
Reticle makes shooting out to 300 yards almost automatic. Wind begins to play a factor beyond that but the reticle is spot on. I use it for coyotes and 3 gun style shooting and its outstanding. My single grip is that thought the function of the reticle is great the center dot is just too big for true precision target shooting at ranges beyond 50-100 yds. You can smoke steel all day but be wary if you're looking for x rings on paper.
Pros: Reticle, Clarity, Eye Relief, Value
Cons: Thickness of reticle...

Burris TAC30

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, OR Written on November 27, 2013
I am very happy with this scope combo. I was looking for something that could be used both as a red dot style optic and a low magnification scope. This is it. It is heavier than a red dot, but it is more useable. The 1X is not a true 1X, but it can be used with both eyes open. The reticle illumination button can be a bit of a pain, but I don't really use the illumination much. When the illumination is off you still have a black reticle that is still very useable.
Pros: Very versitile
Cons: heavy...

Burris TAC30 w/Fastfire

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, CO Written on November 5, 2013
Fits all the needs for 3 gun competition at a fraction of the price for the nearest quality scopes.
Very robust design and mount is easy to install scope and hold zero even after the rigors of a 3gun match.
Pros: Great scope for the price
Cons: none...

Great combo package but is HEAVY

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, TX Written on September 26, 2013
This package is very nice for all applications of an AR platform. Be prepared to add 24.5oz of weight to your rifle. It is NOT 17oz. This is way too much for my liking. Nutnfancy said it best, "for SAWC, it's just too heavy".
Pros: Good sights
Cons: HEAVY, button switch on LRS is twitchy...

Tac30 with Fastfire 3 is outstanding!

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, NV Written on August 28, 2013
The combination of the Burris Tac30, Fastfire III and PPR mount has to be the best value out there for some serious AR optics. I am blown away by the quality and performance the LRS scope brings with crisp clear field of view and excellent illuminated reticle. You will not be disappointed.
Pros: Bright and clear optics with top notch reticle and dot illumination
Cons: Scope is on the bulky side, but worth it...
