Good scope, inconsistent reticleue

by Orsini- RI, from United States, RI Written on December 14, 2014
This scope is very nice and lightweight. The glass is very clear and produced 1/2" groups at 100yds. The light up reticle would not work at 35 degrees Fahrenheit . It tuned on at home but what good was that. Would have given it 5 stars but couldn't use the colored red reticle. My first scope on the ar and I will make good use out of it. Poor sighting instructions....
Pros:
  • Lightweight, easy to use and spot on with minimal adjustments out of box
Cons:
  • Wouldn't turn on in mildly cold temps.

Just fits its role

by Hedens, from Spain, Madrid Written on December 7, 2014
Awesome product for its purpose. I want to use it on my AR to increase its mid range capabilities (now i am just on a red dot).
I dont think I would prefer it over an eotech or an aimpoint for a life or death situation but it is just fine for hunting, casual plinking, etc...
Reasons for it: a bit difficult to cicle the on-off, it wont have neverending battery of the aimpoint, the reticle is not as clear as the eotech... I cant compare it with a trijicon (i never used it).
note: I prefer this one (with a red dot on top) to an eotech or aimpoint with a magnifier when you need to put it aside or come back aligned to the sight (I mess it when the magnifier is hanging to the side of the weapon)....

Priced Right

by Neal Lehman, from United States, CA Written on November 26, 2014
I really like this scope and the price given what I want to use it for. It's mounted on my SW M&P AR and used for target shooting up to 200-300 yards and preditor hunting. It's compact and with the quick-disconnect mount, it's a snap to change when switching to iron sights....

Great value

by hydro, from United States, CA Written on November 10, 2014
Got my Burris illuminated TAC30 and it works and looks great on my AR build. The optics on my builds range from EOtechs to ACOGs. This is an excellent compromise between EOtech with 1x and the ACOG with 4x. The EOtech and ACOG both have a place and defined purpose but this is an excellent blend between the 2....

Outstanding optic

by Koz, from United States, TX Written on October 28, 2014
Red illumination is really not visible during daylight but outstanding in low light conditions. Super clear optic and perfect for an AR. For best results make sure that you use the P.E.P.R. mount. Great height and you can still use MBUS sights below it....

Nice scope

by rlo1, from United States, AZ Written on September 7, 2014
Looks good on my AR and works very well. Nice system. Focus takes a little time, I zero'd with a laser and it was very close. The red dot takes some getting used to during acquisition. The main Battery button takes a little patience to get used too....

burris tac30 great scope

by jc, from United States, NC Written on August 30, 2014
Great scope for the price very clear glass. If you want something for precise shooting not for you. But it's great for real world tactical shooting and fast target acquisition. With 55 grain privi and federal xm193 ammo I consistently shoot 2 moa groups of 5 shots at 100 yards, 69 grains brought it down to 1.5 moa. People whine about the illumination switch but it's not difficult to use and I never shoot with it illuminated anyway....

Great combo for a reasonable price

by Dave, from United States, OR Written on July 31, 2014
I purchased this scope and red dot combo for my AK. It was easy to set-up and sight in. Holds zero and easy to adjust. Optics are clear and perfect for shots out to 100 yards. The only negatives are the size of the on/off for the red dot and the on/off on the scope is very hard to push to adjust brightness and turn off. I would be fine without the lighted reticle as the crosshairs are easy to see in most of the conditions I will be using it in....
Pros:
  • Clear optics
  • compact
  • reasonable price
  • Holds zero
Cons:
  • on/off button
Best Used for:
  • close to mid range shooting

Burris 1-4x24 Fullfield TAC30 Illuminated Ballistic CQ 5.56

by ncd, from United States, TX Written on July 30, 2014
The optic is very clear and the reticle great. My biggest issue was the illumination button it would stick and I would need to unscrew the button cap to address it. It was very annoying that I paid nearly $300 for this package, and the button design is sticky to where it cycles the illumination intensities on its own. If you can deal with it, more power to you....
