Great spotter if you're looking for something practical. Very light-weight and durable. It's been mishandled a couple times (oops!) but the optics haven't taken any damage.

Pros: Clarity and Size
Cons: Throw the included tripod away and buy a good one!

This spotting scope meets every expectation I had when I bought it. The clarity is good, focus takes some getting used to, and design is nice and compact. I can clearly see the bolt heads to a street sign that's 300 yards away. This morning I spotted a group of elk on Maple Mountain from my house (prob 3-4 miles straight shot)and watched 2 bucks sparing. Clarity is very good up to about 50x and then based on temperature and brightness of day from 50x-75x is ok. 50x was more than enough to tell the 2 deer were bucks! This scope beats my previous Bushnell Spotting Scope, hands down!

I purchased this unit to use at the range. It works well out to 200 yrds picking up .223 holes. Beyond that distance it's clarity is marginal but for the money (on sale for $198) and what I hoped for it do it is certainly adequate. The bench tri-pod that comes with it however is less than adequate and I have since replaced it. All in all for a piece of optic equipment under $200 I would definately recomend it.

Cons: Fickle focus, modest optical quality.

My first reaction to this scope was "This thing looks so cool!" The Cassegrain optical system is not something you see everyday, and is sure to get you noticed at the range. The rubber coating offers a sure grip and gives it a rugged look. My reaction to the optical quality was not quite as positive at first. I tried looking at some Christmal light about half a mile away, but could not get them into sharp focus. The next day, my impression improved somewhat as I was able to read 1" text at about 400 yards. The focus was not as sharp as I had come to expect from other Burris products I have owned, but certainly more than adequate for seeing grids and bullet holes at 200 yards. I was also a little disappointed in the focusing. The wheel has a bit of play in it and the depth of field is very shallow. I quickly found that I could get the best results by intentionally overshooting enough to account for the play and then returning to the sharpest image I could get on the way out. The ...

This is one of many spotting scopes/binoculars I have owned over the years. My demands were simple for this scope: Reasonably compact, reasonably durable/rugged, and able to see sighting marks on a 12x12 target and.308 holes at 200 yards in a variety of outdoor daylight conditions. This one has all of that in spades. This is a perfect scope for the casual or regular rifle range visitor. The scope, tripod, cleaning cloth and lens covers are all very nicely put together in a simple and compact zippered case. I have never really liked the bulky and heavy metal cases that come with other larger optics. This one fits perfectly in my range bag along with the necessary ammo and other range day accessories. This spotter also feels and looks very rugged. The main components are of course glass so dropping it off your 4 foot high shooting bench is not a very good idea, but it looks durable enough to take some banging around. As far as its optical performance, at 200 yards it is at its max ...

I have a 32 power scope on my rifle that gives a more clear picture then this 75 power. does not stay in focus, cannot focus even out to 200 yards. very sensitive to any slight movement to stay in focus. Im not sure what burris had in mind for this spotting scope. maybe thats why it was so cheep. I have been looking for along time for more power then my 60 power and thought that I found it, ha ha the joke is on me. Do not buy this scope for target shooting, it may be good for bird watching if you don't have to ID the bird. Lets call this one defective and return it. the eye power changer unscrewed while changing power. good QC?

Very usable in the field. Really impressed how compact & lightweight the scope is. Easily fit's in my pack and doesn't add on weight. Rugged design, the entire scope has this rubber coating, you can not worry about "beating it up". The adjustable zoom is progressive, so you can adjust your field of view to fill the entire picture. Overall, simple, reliable, rugged scope for the money!

The first time I used it, it was extremely difficult to focus. Due in part, at least for me, because of the angled eyepiece. But after a few minutes, it was not a problem. Clarity at all distances was excellent. Great product for the money.
