I had been looking for a low power scope for my AR15 for a while. I had looked at the Leupold, Nikon, Millet, and Burris. I ended up choosing the Burris because it was the cheapest (lowest money) and I already had a Burris fastfire and a PEPR mount. I have been extremely pleased with my purchase. First off, the optics are excellent. I have a Leupold VX3 and a Nikon and it is somewhere in between. The scope says it is made in The Philippines, but so is my Nikon and it is a great scope also. The quality and finish are great and the adjustments are positive. The only complaint that I have is that it would be hard to put flip up caps on because the whole eyepiece turns when you adjust magnification. I really like the tactical knobs, but they are a little tall if you are going to use the PEPR/fastfire setup, but you can still see over them okay. As far as recoil goes, ARs don't have much but I am sure it would handle heavy recoil fine. Until the last minute, I was going to go with the Nikon M223 because of the accurate hold over marks for different distances, But after testing the Burris I was satisfied with the results. Using .223 55 grain FMJ ammo with a 16" barrel, I was able to test the hold over marks for the different yardages and it was pretty accurate. It was dead on at 100 and 200 yards. I went out to about 280 and it was still accurate to about a 7" group holding it over the 300 mark. At 7 power, the target was really tiny at that distance. I think over that it would just be hard to see. Overall, I think this scope would be hard to beat in its class. I would highly recommend it. thanks for reading.
