I love this scope, as good as it say it should be. You have the options of red, green illumination or no illumination and it will still work using the black circle. Well built. The only one concern; when the scope is on my rifle, it will not fit into my gun safe, and to overcome that I need to buy the quick release return to zero scope mount.

Was crooked in mountfustrating but an easy fix. Eye relief is not great. Made in china . The good is its built like a tank everything feels well made. I've looked and you have to spend twice as much to get the next best sight.

I am an avid shooter. 10yrs as a Corrections Deputy with the local Sheriffs Dept; Gunsmithing and shooting are two of my primary hobbies. I grew up in WY with an avid hunter/shooter as a father who started us very young. I first mounted this AR536 on a FAL rifle, but was unable to get a full field of view due to the eye relief unless I held the rifle improperly against my shoulder in order to get my eye closer to the optic. This completely destroyed my stance and natural point of aim. I then mounted it on an AR, but was unable to get a full field of view (FOV) until I removed the Magpul flip-up rear sight from the flat top so I could get the AR536 mounted back far enough. Even then, I could not get proper FOV without collapsing the stock at least half way or more to get my eye close enough. On both the FAL and the AR, I could not get a full FOV unless my eye was off-center from behind the optic slightly. If I centered my eye behind the optic, there was a half-moon of black ...

Pros:  Inexpensive
Cons:  Made in China (that is very dissapointing) a Chinese Burris
Would recommend:  no

Robert wrote:

I have the AR-536. I sold my AR-332 because at 100 yards it was to hard to hold a precession shot. With the 5X 536 15 to 100 yard shots are easy and fast. Very nice objective reticle. So far I have not been able to check it for holding point of aim or, the "Four Corner" test but, I should have that info soon. I am hoping it holds POA as I am pretty sure there aren't any Chinese optics that will pass a four corner. This sight is very fast and easy to pick up the target to 100 yards. It is a cheap Chinese product however. Durability remains to be seen as well as other aspects. Very disappointing. I never thought Burris would stoop so low. Cheap Chinese is not what I expected from Burris. I did however, hit a running Bunny at 75 yards! Time will tell. The bad is: The 5X is NOT a good CQB for closer than 25 yards (use the 332). It can be used, just hard to focus up close on targets. From 10 to 15 yards on out it is awesome. Very quick on shots with both eyes open and target moving. No auto ...

Pros:  sexy and simple to use
Cons:  lighted recital is worthless in low light conditions
Would recommend:  yes

TAWM wrote:

This scope is very easy to get started with out of thebox. The black etched reticle is awesome because if the battery fails you can still use it. The mounts on the side are nice for added lights and lasers. At dusk it lights up the view better but if you turn on the green or red at dusk it makes the scope absolutely worthless. Maybe that's common knowledge but I was hoping it would come in handy in low light situations...it doesn't. I would probably buy it again but if I had the money it would be an ACOG.

Good optic but know it sits a bit high above the bore. It also forced me to remove my flip-up rear sight to obtain proper eye relief. If I put the flip-up back on it will have to go forward of the Burris. An optic like this should come with a quick-detach lever. This Burris replaced an aging Eotech on my patrol rifle.

I waited 5 months for this scope. Finally received it and found the number one setting for illumination didnt work, glue smeared on outside of body, and random scratches. Sent it back and waited another two months to receive another one. This one still had random scratches on it but fewer. Illumination worked properly when I put it on but I noticed after it sat in my truck in the heat the number 1 setting would not work. When it cools off it works fine. I've decided I'll just deal with it because I dont want the gun down for another two months to get a scope that does the same thing. I bought this because I was very impressed with the Burris Fast Fire I have on my shot gun. I can't say the same for this scope though. I think theres a huge lack of quality control to rush these out and meet the demand. I like the look and concept but I think my next one will be an ACOG. I was also not pleased with the minimal amount of eye relief. Its much smaller than the claimed amount. I also wish Burris ...

Pros:  I think this is an amazing sight and its priced reasonably. Very easy to use and set up. Does come with a small sunshade and lens cleaning cloth. Would recommend this to anyone.
Cons:  reticle seems smaller than i pictured.
Would recommend:  yes

Overall I think it is a great optic and it has been priced well. It is very durable and not cheaply made. I have used ACOG's and Aimpoints before in IRAQ and wished I had this sight because of the ease to use and bullet drops and different yard lines. I would recommend this to anyone with an AR for close combat and recreational shooter.

The AR-536 is not parallax free. What this means is that you have up to 1+ MOA of sighting error at 100 yards (~1 inch)if your cheek weld is not exactly the same every time you aim. This is a margin of error that is unacceptable. I am shooting an RFB (.308) and thought that this AR-536 would be a good opportunity to try this type of sight over a traditional scope. Well if it does not say parallax free on the box, make sure you can live with that. I would have been better off with iron a parallax free red dot given the minimal drop of a .308 round over 300 yards.
