MWACK what a waste

by d, from United States, TX Written on March 11, 2015
Why the heck would you make a reticale with bullet drop compensator & not use all the glass? Even zoomed in all the way im spending more time looking at what the reticale says than the target. Thisis the reason i only use Trijicon on my AR'S & .308s. Why make a scope & not use all the glass!!!!!!...

Burris Fastfire combo

by Dm, from United States, KY Written on February 26, 2015
Great product, illumination functions very well. Will buy more in the future. The best use can be both target and hunting applications. The only drawback is the top sight is a little high in relation to the firearm. The brightness of optics work very well in low light. Also, this works well shooting with both eyes open....

Great scope / combo - well made

by Jim, from United States, IL Written on January 20, 2015
Been looking at this scope / combo for a while and finally found a great deal from Optics Planet (10% off with free shipping).

Upon opening the box, I was surprised to see that the thing comes fully assembled and ready to mount (scope already in the PEPR mount and FastFire mounted on top). When picking it up and getting a feel for it, it was obvious that this thing is NOT made in China. Yes, it's heavy, but it's VERY well made for a scope in this price range.

The scope: Optics are very clear with a better than expected eye-relief and a wide field of view. Rotating the optics zoom and focus felt very good and adjustments give a nice positive click. The reticle, while kind of small, still gets the job done and can be seen clearly even without illumination activated. The illumination has 10 levels which can suit most any light condition and the illuminated reticle looks very good.

The FastFire III: Decent little red-dot sight that works very well. Has four brightness settings, including an automatic setting which dynamically adjusts brightness depending on light conditions. It's very easy to adjust, although I wish it had a separate power button for on/off. Power and brightness is set by a single button.

Overall, I highly recommend this combo....

great scope

by case, from United States, WA Written on October 12, 2014
Awesome scope.only thing I don't like is the big redicle bulls eye.it's so big it covers the whole bullseye at 100 yards.red dote seems good but actually not sure it even is needed.at 1 times power it's truly fast target acquisition of up close targets...
Pros:
  • great quality
Cons:
  • redicle bulls eye

Great Combination

by SkyGunner, from United States, AL Written on September 1, 2014
This combo is an excellent choice for medium range and CQB sights. After using it for a short time the switch from one sight to the other, for the best sight picture, becomes practically automatic. The reticle and the dot are very clear and I had no problem getting a quick, on target sight picture. When, or if, I need another excellent combo type arrangement, this will be my first choice!...
Pros:
  • good light transmission
  • Great glass,Price,Build quality, looks great
  • Good eye relief
Cons:
  • None.
Best Used for:
  • Hunting targets at unknown ranges

It was between the MTAC and the VCOG.

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on January 20, 2014
I bought this for a Sig516 and possibly my HK MR556 if I liked it. Well I compared it to the VCOG for over an hour. This honestly is on par for a third the money. I did have one issue with the P.E.P.R. mount. One screw head stripped. I fixed it easily. I called Burris just to tell them they insisted on sending me a new P.E.P.R. mount for free. This is customer service. I have very high end rifles and scopes such as NightForce ATACR , Premier Reticles ,etc. For a combat length AR you cannot beat this scope.
Pros: Clear optics, price, and lifetime warranty
Cons: None...

I am really impressed with the cost/quality ratio with this product. It is great to shoot with..so great I will use the reflex sight on something else as the 1x scope is perfect for 2 eyed CQB work. I like the reticle more and more. Great product.
Pros: cost effective, quality glass, great usability, well built
Cons: Didn't come with scope covers...

Great product

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, TX Written on September 9, 2013
An excellent scope. Very easy to use, great eye relief vision, very clear scope with great usability for an AR-15. Compare with other scopes in the same ball park, the price of this Burris is just great.
Pros: Easy to install, easy to use and sight, seems sturdy and good quality, well designed to allow you to use the long distance scope and close range red dot on top.
Cons: No scope covers. a scope like this that is designed for tactical, should have some kind of protection for the scope, preferibly a scope cover that flips or something in that ball park. The price of the scope deserves this feature....

MTAC 1-4X24/FastFire III combo

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, SC Written on July 27, 2013
The usual excellent Burris optics that I have come to expect, easy to install with the PEPR mount. Got a great deal with the combo plus a $30 off coupon, saved over $100 if bought separately. Needed the FastFire III for a handgun and it would be redundant on the MTAC that already works as a killer red dot @ 1X. Only negatives are that the "On" button on the FastFire III has no clicks and is very difficult to turn on and adjust also the lack of lens caps/covers on a scope of this caliber and cost is ridiculous.
Pros: Excellent optics, CQB reticle, PEPR mount
Cons: A $400 scope without lens covers, REALLY?...
