Too . . . little.

by sr, from United States, TX Written on March 24, 2015
Much smaller than I expected. Red dot was a fuzz ball - there was no way to focus the image for my vision. Would not come close to zero with only about 1/4 the travel I needed to zero.

Returned it, no issues.
I'd recommend this vendor, but I'd recommend you purchase a different Red Dot....
Pros:
  • light weight
  • easy return process
Cons:
  • very small
  • fuzzy red dot
  • could not zero
  • battery screw cap difficult
Best Used for:
  • Paperweight

Burris FF III

by Tom, from United States, AL Written on March 24, 2015
Arrived in good time, New. Easy to install and operate. It was very easy to zero it using a borescope at 25 yards. My pistol is now a tack driver. I use it on one of the three fixed sett, Medium, Low) intensity settings. It is taking some getting used to finding the dot versus lining up iron sights....

Cover misses the point

by JRocks, from United States, MS Written on March 22, 2015
Nice sight. Good that you bave separate modes. But automatic seems to work well. The giant sunshade /cover misses the point if a small sight. They should include the small cover that would keep its compact lines when pistol mounted....

Burris Fastfire III Red Dot Site

by Brian, from United States, NH Written on March 18, 2015
I installed this red dot sight on a Browning Buckmark 22 Camper handgun using a scope mount and am happy with the results. Sighted in at 10 yards the groups are low at 5 yards so I would like to see a mounting option that gets the site lower to the barrel. I use the Buckmark for Hair hunting in the winter and find the red dot much quicker to get on target. The lowest brightness settings are best for accuracy. The brightest settings are fuzzy around the edges....
Pros:
  • Compact Size
  • Good quality.
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • All uses

Awsome product

by Comifornia resident, from United States, CA Written on March 16, 2015
I like the fast fire 3 it mounted perfectly with the Burris ar-f3 mount on my m&p15 love the sight and the mount offers extra pertection and co-sights perfectly with my iron sights. I got the one that comes with the picatiney mount but it wouldent co sight so I ordered the other mount and perfection. My suggestion would be order the sight without the mount and buy the ar-f3 mount seperatly, kinda pricey but deffinitly worth it....

Burris Fast Fire III

by Moose, from United States, GA Written on March 16, 2015
This is an awesome red dot sight. It is extremely easy to mount. Sight adjustments can be made quickly. The greatest advantage is being able to change the battery from the top without having to take scope off gun. I highly recommend this sight to anyone....

Burris FastFire III

by trex, from United States, MI Written on February 23, 2015
Easy to install and sight in. The wind age & elevation detentes work well and all adjustments hold. The sun shade worked well and helps to keep the sight clean. The star burst effect is easy to control with the brightness of the red dot and is mostly due to my glasses and eyes. I would recommend to a friend....

Excellent Pistol Optic

by Fran, from United States, SC Written on February 14, 2015
The Burris Fastfire III melded in the slide of my G20 is a great set up. Red dot is easy to acquire, especially with suppressor sights from Ameriglo as back up iron sights. The red dot is bright and well defined. I never had to turn a dial to zero at 25 yards. Dead on out of the box. With extended mag and Streamlight TLR 3, this is my hog and bear rig. As usual, it was all set up with equipment from Optics Planet. Great selection, price and service! Took advantage of tech support to address an application issue. Got great guidance....
Pros:
  • compact
  • easy to zero and to operate
  • easy to acquire sight picture
  • bright, distinct red dot
Cons:
  • None.

Easy to use, effective

by LJ, from United States, PA Written on February 9, 2015
My first red dot, but not my last. This Sight is exactly as advertized and an amazing tool for a geezer with Old Eyes. Would prefer more brightness settings, but it does what they promised and what I paid for. Battery removal easy, adjustment dials click you right in in no time. Used with a boresight laser, its literally a two minute job sighting in. The time and practice part comes with learning how to raise your firearm correctly while looking at the target/threat and quickly having the dot "appear", with both eyes open. Working on it.
Using on Sig P226 SSE and P229 ESE with UM Tactical mount....

Great Product, will probably buy another

by wknd wrior, from United States, CO Written on January 29, 2015
This was my first reflex sight and I was extremely happy with it. The parallax is minimal and if you really want an accurate long range sight buy a high quality scope. But for short and mid range this is perfect for rapid plinking. I now own an eotech holosight but I actually prefer this for most of my plinking fun. Its a great balance of performance for cost and at close range out to about 100 yards both seem to have comparable parallax when rested.

For those with astigmatism you will want to either wear your corrective lenses or understand what your astigmatism does to the red dot so you know what point to use for aiming.

Compared to the eotech I love the auto gain function. It takes a second to adjust but rarely will this prove problematic even going from outside to clearing rooms (in airsoft)

My only dings against this are that I would have preferred the protective cover be a bit thicker/beefier and have a pyrex "impact resistant" clear window rather than the plastic window for protecting the optic. This complaint is mainly driven by my periodic use of this sight on an airsoft toy. But Ive modified the cover to take hits. With the cover on the side button is a bit hard to push with beefy fingers.

I withhold 5 stars for things that are absolutely perfect but this gets pretty close...
Pros:
  • Low profile
  • small, light, affordable, high quality, stable(223 tested)
Cons:
  • 3moa dot (I want smaller)
  • semi flimsy protective cover
Best Used for:
  • general shooting short-mid range
  • airsoft (with protective cover upgraded)
