Needed help for these old eyes

by Dan, from United States, MO Written on May 18, 2015
I now have 2 Burris Fastfire III Red Dot Sights. As I aged I found myself looking thru the bottom of my trifocal glasses tyring to focus. It was becoming exceedingly difficult and I was exceedingly frustrated. I decided to try an optic on my pistols. I first purchased the fastfire red dot for an S&W M&P C.O.R.E (9mm). This particular firearm is designed (machined) to accept an optic mounting plate. After a discussion with Burris to ensure a fit I purchased the fastfire III. I have been extremely happy. I can look straight down range, targets are much easier locate and I can concentrate on "the squeeze" instead of tyring to focus on the target. I enjoy shooting and this has extended by shooting time. My grandaughter also enjoy this optic and finds she is much more accurate. I now have purchased one for my Sig P226 (9mm)...

Nice backup Red-Dot

by skanker127, from United States, PA Written on May 12, 2015
Got this as part of a package with the XTR sight. This little red-dot serves great as a backup to the XTR for quick acquisition when you're zoomed all the way in with the main sight. I've also taken this and put it on a shotgun for shooting clays and it has worked well there as well. Overall this is a great little sight and I wouldn't hesitant in picking up another one....

Excellent product

by Rimfire Plinker, from United States, KS Written on April 5, 2015
Ordered this to mount on my Ruger 22/45 lite for speed steel competition. Ordered the Burris mount that allows you to remove the rear sight and install it direct in the dovetail This gets the sight as low as it can. The FF3 is just awesome super fast target acquisition nice bright dot. No problems at all. Have had it a short time but have ran over 500 rounds through the gun. One competition match so far and managed first place in my division. The 8MOA dot is perfect for speed steel. If you are wanting bullseye precision get the 3MOA.
Battery replacement is super easy and it doesn't require you to re zero the sight....
Pros:
  • Awesome website & product
Cons:
  • Nothing I can think of

Excellent packaging and right size/weight, but does not work

by Mac, from United States, MI Written on March 30, 2015
Fast delivery from Optics and the sight's box was very well packaged. Inside of the sight's box each part was encased in foam. The optional Picatinny mount clearly is able also to be used with a weaver base - not clear from the advertisements. Do not put on the sunshade unless you need it! It is almost impossible to get back off. Includes a wrench for the counter sunk screws that attach the sight to its mount - included three screws and a very small blade screwdriver for adjusting up/down, left right. Battery compartment needs a screwdriver with a narrow shaft. However, the sight just does not work. The little included manual indicates that the battery should be mounted with plus terminal up - and shows a picture with + up. Battery terminals are at the bottom of the battery compartment for negative and around the edge of the battery compartment for positive. The battery is loose inside of its compartment. A paper shim on one side of the battery did not help - thought it would make the positive connection more effective. Battery measures, open circuit, just over 3 volts on a Fluke meter.
Burris has a "Forever Warranty," but the box contends only one year. Had thought to buy several of these sights, but need to search for a small red-dot that works even if more expensive as the cost to me of dealing with DOA is far more than the cost of the sight....
Pros:
  • Very well packaged and includes what is needed
Cons:
  • Does not work at all

Too . . . little.

by sr, from United States, TX Written on March 24, 2015
Much smaller than I expected. Red dot was a fuzz ball - there was no way to focus the image for my vision. Would not come close to zero with only about 1/4 the travel I needed to zero.

Returned it, no issues.
I'd recommend this vendor, but I'd recommend you purchase a different Red Dot....
Pros:
  • light weight
  • easy return process
Cons:
  • very small
  • fuzzy red dot
  • could not zero
  • battery screw cap difficult
Best Used for:
  • Paperweight

Burris FF III

by Tom, from United States, AL Written on March 24, 2015
Arrived in good time, New. Easy to install and operate. It was very easy to zero it using a borescope at 25 yards. My pistol is now a tack driver. I use it on one of the three fixed sett, Medium, Low) intensity settings. It is taking some getting used to finding the dot versus lining up iron sights....

Cover misses the point

by JRocks, from United States, MS Written on March 22, 2015
Nice sight. Good that you bave separate modes. But automatic seems to work well. The giant sunshade /cover misses the point if a small sight. They should include the small cover that would keep its compact lines when pistol mounted....

Burris Fastfire III Red Dot Site

by Brian, from United States, NH Written on March 18, 2015
I installed this red dot sight on a Browning Buckmark 22 Camper handgun using a scope mount and am happy with the results. Sighted in at 10 yards the groups are low at 5 yards so I would like to see a mounting option that gets the site lower to the barrel. I use the Buckmark for Hair hunting in the winter and find the red dot much quicker to get on target. The lowest brightness settings are best for accuracy. The brightest settings are fuzzy around the edges....
Pros:
  • Compact Size
  • Good quality.
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • All uses

Awsome product

by Comifornia resident, from United States, CA Written on March 16, 2015
I like the fast fire 3 it mounted perfectly with the Burris ar-f3 mount on my m&p15 love the sight and the mount offers extra pertection and co-sights perfectly with my iron sights. I got the one that comes with the picatiney mount but it wouldent co sight so I ordered the other mount and perfection. My suggestion would be order the sight without the mount and buy the ar-f3 mount seperatly, kinda pricey but deffinitly worth it....

Burris Fast Fire III

by Moose, from United States, GA Written on March 16, 2015
This is an awesome red dot sight. It is extremely easy to mount. Sight adjustments can be made quickly. The greatest advantage is being able to change the battery from the top without having to take scope off gun. I highly recommend this sight to anyone....
