It is also about 1/3 the cost of a Aimpoint Micro T1. Mine came with screws that were too short to mount the sight onto the base plate. I called Burris and they explained that some of the sights shipped with short screws and they promptly sent me a replacement set. The biggest and unexpected bonus is that the sights cowitness perfectly with AR-height sights. I mounted this to my Sig 556. The narrow profile of the sight allows me to maintain an unobstructed and wide field of view.

I first used this sight on a 12 ga. I ran through a few 3" magnum loads. No problems. Then I mounted it on a Ruger 357, and I have fired a few hundred rounds of mixed 357 & 38's. No Problems. But, I found it was better suited to a long gun. You have a better field of vision with your eye closer to the sight. The sight glass is small, about 7/8" wide and 5/8" high. When you lift your arms up from the ready position, it is hard to aquire a target quickly as you are trying to locate the dot in the small sight window which is about 18" away from your eye. I will use this sight for my long gun, but I will have to buy a larger dia. tube sight for quick fire hand gun use. the dot is easily adjusted, and seems to hold the setting, even though the adj. screws are very tiny. With the 357 Ruger braced on a mat, it shot a 1' group at 25 yards, much better than my eyes can do with open sights.
