The Burris Picatinny Protector is a good alternative to more expensive options (LaRue, etc) to protect the FastFire sight. The Picatinny Protector has two 'wings' that run the lenth of the sight to protect from side impacts. However, the top is left open and unprotected. The Picatinny Protector has cutouts so that you can turn the sight on/off and adjust zero while it is mounted. The protective wings on the sight are unobtrusive and let you maintain a wide field of vision.
