I mounted the FastFire on a scout rail of Marlin 45/70 shooting heavy Garrett loads and it holds up great. Also use on AR platform. Excellent product for money!

I used this as a backup to my Leupold Mark AR Scope I purchsed from opticsplanet. Easy to sight in with card that comes with it. I have it mounted for ease of use if I need to shoot close range if scope is not needed. Overall, another great product from this site!!!

Pros: Looks like part of the fire arm.
Cons: Needed a little work (about ten minutes) for the third screw for the protector "wings"
Would recommend: yes

I like how this looks like part of the fire arm, not some hodge podged chunck of metal on my Ruger Mark II. The mounting plate for Ruger Mark I, II, III doesn't allow for the 410330 Fastfire Protector. But after removing the "wings" from the Picatinny Mount (use a little heat to free up the locktight) the wings and the sight can be mounted together on the Ruger mount fairly easily. All you need to do is mark the location to drill and tap for the extra hole needed for the wings and your set.Mount the sight with the gasket as you normally would.

Pros: Light, Well-built, Solid Mount
Cons: Expensive for what it is
Would recommend: yes

The Picatinny Protector mount for the Burris Fastfire mini red dot sight is a must for anyone who purchases this excellent optic for mounting on a picatinny rail. Without the protector mount, the optic is left exposed to any number of mishaps that could potentially destroy it. The mount is well-built, and extremely light, adding virtually no weight to the firearm. It mounts very solidly to any picatinny rail, and the cutout for the switch is plenty large enough to access the switch quickly and easily. It was a bit of a pain to get the gasket lined up between the sight and the mount, but that goes for any of the Fastfire mounting plates, not the Picatinny Protector in particular. My only complaint is the price, but it seems that any proprietary tactical mount these days costs way more than it should. The good news is that Optics Planet has the best price on the internet, with FREE SHIPPING included!

If you purchase the Doctor Optic Red Dot, you have to purchase a base separately - this one fits the bill perfectly. The greatest part of the transaction is the speed of delivery. This is the 4th item I've ordered from here and they are consistantly OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!!
