Most Helpful Positive Review Burris 1.5-6x-42mm MTAC Riflescope
I think Burris should rethink their reticle. The dots are too big and the reticle obscures too much of the target in my opinion. This is a nice optic ...

Very good scope

by Andrei Isakov, from Estonia, HARJUMAA Written on October 10, 2014
Actually, I vahe nothing to comare because it is my first carbine optics.
The scope looks very nice, the assembly is of high quality. The magnification adjustment is pleasant and smooth.
I bought it with the Burris AR-PEPR Scope Mount.
I mounted the sight in my AR-15 .223 carbine. It was a little bit hard for me to find a convenient position to mount the scope - the eye relief was not enough. Finally I mounted the base at the nearest position of my picatinny rail. Now the position is perfectly convenient.
So far I have made some shots at the distance of 40 meters. The zeroing was really easy. I used the blue Loctite to fix all the screws, hope that there will no need to unmount the scope for a long time :)
The reticle illumitation is very convenient for me, the 10 steps of adjustment is more than enough. The switch-off between each adjustment is perfect.
The dots of the reticle are fine for me. I do not like too many information in the reticle. This scope has a ring and 5 dots inside. According to the ballistics table for .223REM the last dot is for 600 yards (550 meters) which is more than enough. The size of dots is perfect for me.
I plan to use the scope in the IPSC stages. The longest range I've met so far was abount 300 meters. The x6 magnification seems to be just fine for my needs.

So far I am very satisfied with the sight.

What I miss in the scope is the absence of lens protection covers. I am planning to buy the Butler Creek Quick Detach Scope Cover Set (lar...

Great Scope for the money

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, NY Written on May 3, 2013
Great scope. Center dot is a bit big but with practice you can get very good groups. Burris should consider a 1.5" moa dot for the center dot. Shot my rifle with 55gr Vmax bullets and it was dead on the hold marks out too 400. Havent tried 500 or 590 yet. Great scope for close in work and reaching out some distance.
Pros: Clear & sharp images. Very well built
Cons: 1/2" moa adjustments, Wish was 1/4" center dot is great for speed but thing 2.4" @ 100yrs covers to much...

Burris 1.5-6x-42mm MTAC Riflescope

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on November 8, 2012
I think Burris should rethink their reticle. The dots are too big and the reticle obscures too much of the target in my opinion. This is a nice optic to buy for hunting. It is water proof enough. Immersion in sand only made the controls 'crunchy.'
Pros: Good fit and finish, excellent clarity, no chromatic aberration
Cons: Noticable Pincushion or warping of target....
