Great sight

Went to shoot sporting clays after mounting this sight. Got to course and realized I had my XF/"turkey" choke . Still shot 80%. This is a great sight. Get it and you will be a better shot.
Pros: Works

Burris speed bead, pretty cool

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, PA Written on June 30, 2012
This speedbead is pretty cool, but it took some minor gunsmithing to get the stock to sit flush with the reciever when I mounted it. It has little prongs around the mount that prevent the part of the stock that goes inside of the reciever from actually going inside of the reciever. I took a dremel and scored out little recesses in the part of of the stock where they lined up. After doing this the stock sat flush with no visible signs of modification from the outside. I am happy with the way it turned out, and I am a perfectionist. I mounted it on my 11-87 super-mag with a synthetic stock. Maybe on a wood stock those prongs would just dig into the wood, but I doubt it. If you are not comfortable making these kinds of modifications, and you want it to look good, I would not purchase this. Unless you can get somebody else to do it for you.
Pros: faster target aquisition, forgiving
Cons: not very bright, not easy to mount...

Great way to stop cross eye sight pictures

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on October 17, 2011
I have two bad shotgun habits, picking up the sight with my opposite eye and lifting my head during my swing. This sight helps with both issues. You can't see the dot with your cross eye, and you lose sight of the dot if you move your head. It is also much easier to see your lead on a bird, because you can always see the dot.
Pros: Eliminates the tendency to pick up the sight with the opposite eye and forces better shooting form
Cons: rigid platistic cover, some modification required to to the stock is required to mount...

Burris SpeedBead Red Dot Reflex Sight

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, TN Written on April 10, 2011
Good sight for the price. Read all of the instructions before installing/sighting in. Must loosen 2 front screws before zeroing in the red dot. I bought additional spacers to raise the sight (for an original Benelli Black Eagle) and didn't need them.
Pros: Price
Cons: a little cumbersome to install...
