Like the Concept, But...

by Rattlr, from United States, CO Written on November 11, 2014
Rings are well built and hopefully will stand the tests of time and use. I like the idea of being able to use inserts to align a centered scope with the rifle barrel. However to really take advantage of this benefit an additional purchase of offset insets has to be made. The rings only come with 'zero' offset inserts. Including the other offsets with the rings purchase would add minimal cost and make this idea a really good deal....

Burris Siznature Zee Rings Work Rings Around Other Rings

by Pistol Packing Piggy, from United States, OK Written on November 7, 2014
These rings work as advertised. I used them to mount a Leupold VX-1 3-9x40 scope with a one-inch tube on a Marlin X7 30-06. The Burris customer service man recommended these rings for mounting on the X7's factory-mounted base. The mounts slipped easily over the base. The plastic inserts made solid contact with the scope tube, while at the same time decreasing, if not eliminating, the chance of scratching or denting the scope tube. You do not tighten the rings to the point that the space between the top and bottom halves of the ring meet. Follow directions, and you should have no trouble. No one would confuse me for a gunsmith, so proceed. I've tried several types and brands of scope rings, and these work better than any I've found....
Pros:
  • Ease of installation
  • Plastic inserts
  • Stable, firm mount to rail
Cons:
  • Made in China
Best Used for:
  • Mounting a scope to a rifle, I guess.

Z-rings solved the unsolvable

by bikemutt, from United States, WA Written on November 5, 2014
After much hand-wringing I was about to give up mounting a Nikon Rimfire scope on a Marlin 39A. At 50 yards the scope had the elevation turret maxed. Then I found out about these Burris Zee rings and inserts, a +20 in the rear ring and a -10 in the front ring zeroed the scope at 50 yards with the turret in the middle of its 80 MOA range....

Great Quality Rings - Solid and Tight

by RaginCajun76, from United States, LA Written on October 26, 2014
Got these Weaver Signature Rings to mount a 3x12 40mm scope on Weaver mounts. The inserts that go around the scope are great as the rings don't have to be perfectly aligned and true. This eliminates the potential need for Scope Ring Alignment Bars and a Lapping Tool, and they protect your scope's finish. Yes, they may cost a bit more. But, IMHO, for the installation convenience it's worth the small premium.

The plastic inserts fit around my 1" scope perfectly, and held it very snug even before fully tightening down the screws of the upper ring halves. Made it fairly easy to mount, level, and plumb the scope.

My two small complaints:
1) The instructions are VERY MINIMAL. This is my first real scope installation so I probably had more questions than necessary. Burris included some friction paper strips in with the rings but don't explain WHEN they should be used, or exactly where to apply them. They stated that they should be installed on the inside of the rings. (Since they didn't say "Inserts", I put the friction paper strips on the inside of the upper & lower metal rings where the inserts seat. Hope I got it right.)
2) There was no mention of the tourque values for any of the screws. I was able to find the specs on the Burris website, but it'd be nice to have those values included with the rings.

Long story short - I got my scope mounted, it fits and looks great, and now I just need to go sight it in....
Pros:
  • Well Built and Solid
  • Easy To Install Scope
  • No Lapping Tool Required
Cons:
  • Minimal Instructions

Burris Zee Signature 1 inch Rifle Scope Mount Rings

by Gary Hulse, from Australia, Western Australia Written on August 13, 2014
So I purchased two sets of Burris Zee Signature 1 inch Rifle Scope Mount Rings for Weaver Style bases a few months ago. One was placed on my sons rifle to fit a Weaver Fine Crosshair Target 24 x 40 mm T-Series Riflescope 849976. Good outcomes with the scope I have already commented on but needless to say the scope is only as good as its mount.
The other I used to replace rings on another brand scope. Doing F Class long distance competition (30-100yds) I had found that metal to metal (ring to scope) was more prone to slight movement over time: yes I know this likely reflect on my care!. Only time will tell but the Burris rings were recommended by the gun smith on the range with the plastic inserts reducing likelihood of any even minor movement....
Pros:
  • Easy to fit
  • Feel secure
Cons:
  • Non thus far

Zee signature rings

by Rusty, from United States, AZ Written on July 30, 2014
They are ok for a quick alignment. The bushings never sit right in the rings so it is difficult to square the rings with the bushings. Clint Szymanski "the famous spike hunter" does not care for the quality of these rings either....

Worked great for a rifle that was shooting very low.

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, AL Written on December 10, 2013
I recently used these on a Savage rifle with a Leupold scope. Initially, my main reason for using them was to protect the scope. I soon found out the rifle was shooting very low and two the right. I was able to correct this with 10 MOA inserts on the front and rear rings. These are the only rings that I know of that have this ability. The rings can be hard to mount. I use rails on my rifles, so I just slide them on from either end. The finish on the rings are not the best and can rust if not kept oiled. They are also made in China now instead of the USA. If you need the extra MOA inserts, they must also be purchased separately.
Pros: Won't damage or scratch scope. Ability to correct windage and elevation.
Cons: Only 0 MOA inserts included with rings. Seem to be susceptable to rust in not kept oiled. Sometimes difficult to mount. Not made in the USA any longer.....
