I am a seasoned atronomer, and after my nephew expressed interest in picking up the hobby as well I bought him this telescope for a birthday present. It is really the perfect telescope for beginners. Bushnell's products are rock-solid. This telescope is lightweight and easy to use and learn on, but the optics are plenty sophisticated for some serious viewing. It can also be used during the daytime, which is very important for astronomy enthusiasts that might have an early bedtime. My nephew was thrilled with the gift and has been consistently using it to explore the skies for the past 4 months. Highly recommended.

I've bene wanting to see the stars and planets for the longest time. I decided to start up with an easy telescope as i've never owned one before. This one has been a great pic! It's cheap...yet i actually learned how to focus.
I would definetely recommend for anybody trying out the whole outer space thing for the first time.
Super Cool
