Most Helpful Positive Review Bushnell AR Optics 1-4x AR91424i
For the price, this is a good scope for 3 gun. Easy and fast to change power with the power change lever (PCL). At 3-4x power, the image, compared t...

You get what you pay for

by ilovemy45, from United States, FL Written on April 11, 2015
I ordered this scope, because I went over budget on my build.(I should have waited and saved more $) It is not the worst you can do for a budget scope, but it is far from ideal. I mounted it on a Burris PEPR mount, with expected results. It sits above my front sight post enough to not be too blurry. I sighted it in at 50 yards, at 4x. It held the group at 100 yards. I have not had a chance to go much further, i'm still testing different loads. In daylight conditions you have to illuminate the recticle in order to see it. In low light, it has below average performance. And it weights alot, almost 25oz with the mount. I intended to build a SPR style AR, with decent glass. But I am still missing the glass. Should have held out for the Vortex....
Pros:
  • Looks cool
  • budget friendly
Cons:
  • Heavy
  • poor in low light
Best Used for:
  • plinking

Reticle illumination useless in bright sun

by Chris, from United States, CA Written on March 15, 2015
Bought this scope for a rifle to be used in 3gun comps. This would be great if the reticle actually turned into a dot as advertised. The illumination in bright light is non existent making it difficult to pick up. Awesome scope if you are only shooting indoors or low light...

GREAT optic!

by ChadR, from United States, GA Written on February 13, 2015
Great quality. I was looking for a mid range optic(up to 200-300 yards), for my 300BO to hog hunt with. This is perfect. As a matter of fact, i am ordering another for my sons rifle. High recommended....

Lv2 target shoot

by Jonboy, from United States, PA Written on January 19, 2015
This scope is what I wanted for my AR. I like the sight picture, easily acquired, nice and clean, clear to the edge. Bushnell makes good, quality products, purchased a 3 X 9 Banner in 1970, had many years service. My reason for this purchase and happy with my scope! Thank you for your fast service as well Optic Planet!...

Good FFL Scope - Reasonable Price

by Bruce, from United States, TX Written on January 18, 2015
This is the first FFL scope I have bought. Read the FFL explanation provided by Optics Planet.

It performs well and is clear through the power range. It is fairly compact and a good match for an AR-15.

The value of the PCL is pretty marginal, but different strokes for different folks. It works as advertised.

The quality of this scope compares to medium priced competitors like Burris and better Weavers, but is not as good as high end scopes like Leupold and above....

Bushnell AR 1-4x24

by CW, from United States, MT Written on October 13, 2014
Excellent scope! Glass is clear and bright..flawless!
FFP takes a bit to get used to..but a nice design. The lever to move the power dial is a great option!
Solid as a rock and at this price point..can't be beat for what it provides = a sturdy scope for all kinds of work on an AR!...
Pros:

Cons:
  • None that I've seen

Bushnell AR Optics 1-4x24

by nikki1598, from United States, CA Written on September 1, 2014
Very nice scope for the money. Throw down lever nice and quick option. Illuminated redical superb in low light for target acquisition. Do not purchase with optional mount, waste of money, single bolt lock down came loose after 6 to 10 rounds everytime, same your money and put toward better quality duel hold down bolts, otherwise this was a great buy....

Best Bang For Your Buck

by Stephen B., from United States, TX Written on August 26, 2014
After buying my RRA AR I had no clue what I wanted to use for a sight. I wanted something that I could use short distance and long. (Apparently that is too much to ask for in optics) I did my research and found this Bushnell scope, and it is everything you WILL need. As soon as i mounted it on my AR it was perfect. It feels natural up close and when its zoomed in. Really easy to find your intended target. What really sold me was the fact that it illuminates and it still has the crosshairs visible with NO illumination. The only thing I recommend is that when you purchase this buy a high mount. I made the mistake of not buying the package-deal that OP does and ended up spending more money on a good mount because of it....
Pros:
  • Clear optics
  • easy to use
  • good price
  • illuminated reticule
Cons:
  • Heavy
Best Used for:
  • hunting
  • Home Defense
  • Target and varmit shooting

a great scope for your AR

by TBlain, from United States, NC Written on July 31, 2014
I wanted a good scope for my AR, as I am going to be doing some 3 Gun soon but I am on a tight budget and simply can not afford $800 for a scope. I read some reviews from others and although some said the illuminated reticle was not visible on a bright and sunny day, I decided to take a chance. I am very glad I did. The scope looks great on my AR and is perfect for 3 Gun; at 1X the reticle appears to be a "red dot" for short range targets and at 4X I can easily see and hit targets at 200 yards and beyond. As for the illuminated reticle on very bright days - it doesn't disappear, it appears to be black in color instead of red, but it is still very visible. This scope has a lot of features that you normally only find on scopes that are more than twice the price. I did a lot of homework before buying this scope and feel this is the perfect scope for me and the price at OpticsPlanet was far better than any other vendor I could find. OpticsPlanet - a great product at a great price and how can you beat free shipping....

Great scope for a great price!

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on March 20, 2014
For the price, its a VERY good scope. Sadly I only zeroed it in at 50yds (Which it holds INSANELY well) At 100yds - 4x, you can't see where the bullets go unless you have a spotting scope.

The only big problem I have with the scope is the weight, its VERY heavy.

Hard to see the RED Reticle on a bright day...but most illuminated scopes are the same.

The adjustable eye piece gets out of sync when you take off the provided scope covers. Not sure it flip up caps will work.

All in all...Im glad I paid for this scope vs the $500 Burris scope.

Good buy.
Pros: Works great, very strong and sturdy construction.
Cons: VERY heavy. ...
